So, the original question here was to think about something Revell could do by modifying the existing cast they have without spending too much $$, not another "wish list" ( mine is too long to write... ;) )

A stock 68 GTO in 1/24 scale with the right interior

A stock/modified 2n1 1951 Mercury will be a big hit I think

A stock/modified 2n1 1937 Ford ( 1/24..)

A 2n1 1970/71 Firebird F400/T/A with their 1/24 existing model with that dual snorkel hood

A 2n1 unchopped Linconl Zephir 1941 with their old existing model, including some Kustom and stock parts

A 1952 Ford F1 pu or delivery in 1/25

A 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T starting with their 1/24 cast.....

That's all I have in mind right now ;)

Two that could be made with a lot of existing tooling,  a '32 Ford Vicky,  and mid sixties AA/FD Fueler with a full Tom Hanna or Bob Sorrel type body.

Modified re-issue suggestions based on Revell's existing tooling I would love to see:

'29 bodied Ford Model A roadster/5 window

Stock height '30 Ford Model A 5 window

'40 Ford Tudor Sedan

'48 Ford Tudor sedan

'57 Ford Ranchero

any later-model variants of the Dodge Dart/Plymouth Valiant

'87 Olds Cutlass RWD

'90 (or other model year variants) of the Fox platform Mustang with corrected roof height

Station wagon versions of almost any recent tool

Modified re-issue suggestions based on AMT/ERTL/Round 2's existing tooling:

'41-48 panel truck based on '41 Ford woody tooling

'55-57 (or even '58-'59 variant) Chevrolet or GMC panel truck or Suburban

Tahoe or Yukon 2dr based on their late 80's and 90's truck platform

Stock or drag (flip front) version of  '75-'76 Datsun pickup :no monster truck:

* more parts pack issues (new tools), especially

an all-new Ford flathead with vintage speed parts

cheater slicks

hot rod big & littles with vintage mags, pie crust slicks

Let's start with hot rod stuff:

1927 Model T roadster.  A stock version would be ideal, but something to fit the frame of the Model A roadster and coupe kits might do well.  Go the traditional track roadster route with a track nose and bellypan, but Deuce grille would be a nice option.  An old school flathead V-8 would be nice, but not essential, and a set of Kelsey Hayes wires would be nice if you wanted to make a new set of wheels.

For the traditional custom crowd, how about a 1940 Mercury?

For reissues, I'd like to see Revell follow up the "Blue Bandito" with a restored Little T and Little Deuce.

For something contemporary,  how about the Tesla Model S, and Buick's Aspire concept car?

Now for the classics, and here I realize we're getting deep into "wish" territory

Bring back the Monogram classics, but in particular the Cord and Lincoln Continental.  There does seem to be some interest in them about the custom crowd, and they are so much nicer than the Lindberg versions.

As for new tools, I would like to see someone do a decent Auburn Speedster, and Bugatti's Type 57 Atlantic Coupe just begs for a kit version.   The swoopy styles of Figona and Falaschi seem to be popular.  Perhaps join forces with the folks at Heller to use their existing Delage and Delahaye kits as a starting point?   For American classics, how about Packard's magnificent Twin Six, and a Mercer Raceabout in the same scale as MPC's Stutz Bearcat would be most welcome.

For postwar classics, Moebius has been putting out some kits I thought would never see the light of day, so lets go with 1956 Lincoln capri, 1956 Continental Mk II, 1953 Buick Skylark,  1955 Cadillac Eldorado, 1957 Studebaker Hawk, and '62 Hawk GT.    For European postwar, how about a 1/24 Citroen DS,  Morris Minor, Facel Vega, or Lamborghini Espada?

Since it is a wish list, let;s finish off with some dream cars, in particular, the Buick Y-Job, The original LeSabre, the Firebird III, and the original Bertone Stratos.

I know that most of the folks on here are from the US and naturally wish for a 19XX big three production car, even though a 19XX +/- one year already exists in kit form.

I find your list very refreshing, Richard, and would love to see many of these in kit form.  I reckon I would gladly buy 90% of your suggestions, especially the 1940 Mercury, 1953 Buick, 1956 Lincoln, Espada, and a Figoni & Falaschi anything,

Don't forget that Ebbro recently released the Citroen DS19.

Foreign:

Volvo P1800 coupe

Mercedes 280 SL

Yes, and YES-----On those two! I once owned a '65 P1800, and the closest I thing I have to it is a nice resin, but needs some cleanup to make into a really nice model. I happen to have a 1/24 diecast of a 230SL, and it baffles me why there's never been a proper 1/24-25 glue kit of this car.

As a Belgian and also European, I wonder if there would be interest in an all new '69-'70 Cadillac Deville, which internals then also could be used for I'm guessing '65 up to '68 models.

Or is that era Cadillac best forgotten?

A new tool 63 Splitwindow based on Revell's molds. I had the pleasure of talking to Ed Sexton at the IPMS convention in Orlando several years ago, I asked if a 63 was in the future. He said it is a frequently requested model, no hint from him if it was in the cards though. I know I would buy several.

Well, if we are going out of the country:

I second the BMW 2002 tii

BMW Bavaria or 3.0 CS

Citroen SM

Aston Martin DB5 with obvious movie tie-in (the stock Doyusha kit is bumping $100)

Find/rescue/remold any of the early '60s Ferrari road cars please    275GTB, 250GT Lusso (oh, the Lusso)

Actually, I had forgotten about the Ebbro kit.  Thanks for the reminder!

Yes, there is a thread about what could be made from existing tooling, but this one seemed pretty clear.  Never mind the restrictions, what would you like to see made into a kit?  Revell does do a lot of business in Europe as well, so it is worth considering what we'd like to see from that side of the Atlantic.

I'd certainly be interested in a Volvo p1800, and I'd love to see someone do a Citroen SM kit.  Ferrari and Lamborghini already get lots of love when it comes to kits, but how about some classic Maseratis?  The Ghibli was a gorgeous design that deserves a model.

A couple of American cers I missed the first time around, but I'd love to see as a kit are the '67 Oldsmobile Toronado, and the 1971 Riviera.

Most of the models on my wish list will likely never be done by Revell, or perhaps any major manufacturer.  This thread seems to me to be a variation of Revell of Germany's online wish list that sort of evaporated.  I just can't get excited about these lists anymore as I feel they mainly a waste of time.  Not that there might not be something on here that can get produced, but how long and far out?

Well, you do have to be realistic.   If you go into this expecting everything you put on the list will be on the shelves by Christmas, then of course you're going to be dissapointed.  Of course most of the stuff we put on these lists is never going to happen, but that doesn't mean that it's a waste of time.  It never hurts to tell the companies what you want, and sometimes you find out there's a lot of other people who'd also like the kit you think nobody else would want.  And while the odds may be low, that doesn't mean they're zero.   That '56 Chrysler 300B that Moebius released?  That was something I'd wanted for years but figured that's never going to happen.   You think wanting more classics is a pointless effort?   Try wanting brass era stuff.  The number of 1/24 and 1/25 brass era car kits that weren't made in the dark ages could be counted on one hand, with fingers left over, yet ICM is releasing some very nice Model T kits.  I participate in these because every so often, it works.

Yep that site went into oblivion, not sure if there were build in measures to keep it fair play et all.

Anyway, a site like this one is to small and doesn't cover or reach all the people who buy models even sporadically, think social media are better marketing tools, everyone is registered, no ballot stuffing and a broader and more diverse crowd.

Wonder what a white mid '90s Ford Bronco would do if it was dropped there.....

I would like to see some Canadian exclusive cars made. Mercury Meteor, Pontiac Acadian for example. There are some that are pretty close with existing tooling and wouldn't be too difficult to rework some trim, add extra bits.

Posted

68 Mercury Cyclone, Dan Gurney and Cale Yarbrough editions as an option.

57 Ford Ranchero

58 Ford Custom 300 2-door sedan

48-50 Packard,  fastback coupe and convertible

73 Mercury Montego GT
