You have to admire their work ethic when they know they will be deluged with orders and yet will be retiring shortly.

It would be so much easier for them to simply call it a day now and cruise in to a well deserved retirement.

Very good. I'll be getting in an order.

I wish they'd left the site up, so we could spend the time making up our "Christmas lists," but that's okay--I'll survive. Thanks for letting us know. B)

I will be digging out my catalog and getting what will be my final order to them. Unless they find a buyer, they will have to stop taking orders this summer to allow them enough time to ship everything and retire next year.

I have a bunch of parts I really need, and a trans-kit or two I'd like to get.

I really hope someone takes over the kits at the very minimum- those are a wonderful, sorely needed addition to the hobby.

I will state this publicly- if I thought I had enough money to pull it off, I'd put in an offer and start learning how to cast over the next year.

Anyone want to work on some funding with me?

While Modelhaus has always had some great stuff, I do have a few of their kits in my stash. so I'm goin' to pass when they open their website as I already have more than I will ever build. Trading ca$h for plastic and resin is gettin' old.

Website back up, and even though they are closing up shop they have a new kit available. A 70 Mercury wagon

I just googled Modelhaus and clicked on their website but I'm still getting the same page that's been there since February, saying the website is closed temporarily. I typed the address in my browser and got the same thing. Am I missing something?

I just clicked on their site and it works for me. I have a few things in mind, but I'll double check to see if it's what I truly need before I order.

Just placed my order. Sad to see they are going but do understand.

Yeah, I can't blame them either. As the saying goes "All good things must come to an end". :(

I got in my order today for some parts and a couple kits.  I see they announced a new kit today--a '70 Mercury Colony Park wagon.. may have to get that one to go w/ their '70 Ford Ranch Wagon and Country Squire I got a couple years ago.

Thanks for the reminder. Just went to their site to order a '67 Grand Prix convertible. A little pricey. But, well worth I'm sure. I hope I get to order one or two more kits before they close shop.

Their '67 Grand Prix kits are very nice...I ordered the '66 Grand Prix today.

Any idea what wheels come with that kit? They just say promo wheels. I'm hoping those are the 8 lug wheels.

The '67s have the 8 lug wheels. I have the '67 ht and convertible kits, the convertible is in storage, but I just checked the ht.  I want to put some Pontiac Rally II wheels w/ redlines on one, maybe Hurst wheels on the convertible.

Got my order in for a '56 Plymouth interior, '61 T-bird steering wheel/column and taillights, and '63 Impala taillights for the AMT kit (drilled out the molded-in ones 25 years ago and parked it, so another 20 weeks won't matter now...). Wish I could get more stuff but this will have to do it.

Bittersweet moment, got the final of my final Modelhaus order in this morning.  I couldn't figure out why my iPad wouldn't bring up the website, I had to clear out the history and it came right up!

I've been haunting eBay for a reasonably priced '60 Ford Short Box Pickup for a long time, like the body style of the '57 - '60 Short Wide Bed Ford Pickups.  While I was ordering tires, wheels, grills, bumpers I went ahead and picked up the '57 Short Bed.  Figure it this way, if I had found a '60 on eBay it would have required cleanup, maybe shortening a long bed.  Easily would have been a hundred bucks in spite of doing the work to make it what I wanted.

I didn't make any larger order than I normally do from Modelhause, usually do the same with Replicas & Miniatures.  I usually list out the stuff I'd like to get for future projects ahead of time.  Once it's long enough I'll sit down with the vendors catalog and place an order.  This time there was no sitting on the fence, 20 weeks out or not, if it was getting ordered it had to have been then!

Can anyone tell me if they have replacement front & rear bumpers, grille, and taillights for a '60 El Camino?

Yes they're all there...look under 1960 Chevorlet parts.

My last order was mailed in back in mid January. Just got an email that they are starting on it. Still have a couple large orders to get in. I have a lot of old annual restoration projects that I need parts for.
