Geno Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Cool. But didnt Ford actually build two Boss 9 Cougars...that eventually were retaged as 1970 models.Yes they did, not to take away from the fact this is one sweet build though. Officially, Ford never stuffed its Boss 429 V-8 between the fenders of a Mercury Cougar, but that’s not to say that none were built in this configuration. In fact, two cars destined for the drag strip ran the feared engine, and one of them will appear at this year’s Ford Carlisle. As the Super Stock ranks featured more and more factory support in the late 1960s, Ford, looking for a competitive edge against Chrysler, commissioned skunk works builder Kar Kraft to build two 1969 Boss 429 Mercury Cougars and then sold them to drag racers “Dyno Don” Nicholson and “Fast Eddie” Schartman for the princely sum of $1 each.
crazyjim Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Sweet ride. Needs some wash on the grille.
espo Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Great looking build. That would have been a real sleeper.
thatz4u Posted November 20, 2016 Author Posted November 20, 2016 Looking good, very well presented thanks guys, it was worth the effort
thatz4u Posted November 21, 2016 Author Posted November 21, 2016 Another original Al !!!I'm looking for a 70 Cougar for my next idea Marty
Snake45 Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Great idea and nice execution. You asked for comments--I think the concept would work even better with the big Boss 9 hood scoop. That would REALLY get the point across.

fairlane1320 Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 There were three Boss 429 Cougars. The two white 1969 R-codes that went to Dyno & Fast Eddie, and there was also a 1970 Eliminator prototype used for maqazine road test duty.
bbowser Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I think this is really cool, well worth the effort!
Brutalform Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Very nice car. I've been on a Ford kick lately, and I enjoy seeing a nice cougar build.
