johnz Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 This is something I wanted to do since I first saw Ray Fahner's wake wagon,1970?so it's a tribute I guess.started with amt raiders coach, narrowed, shortened, built doors, filled windows, made new windows, set on a revell t frame that was extended front and rear.Everything else is pretty much scratch built, engine is small block ford from revell(detailed)trans is aod also from revell, nine inch ford from amt nascar(modified),this is all plastic with the exception of the grill.questions and comments welcome thanks for looking johnz
Jantrix Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 John, this is really some terrific work. On top of being well done, it's obvious that there was a great deal of planning and forethought involved. For instance, the cross-member under the tranny was built and detailed to look removable. Obviously, in case someday, they have to drop the pan. Most builders wouldn't have bothered with that, even if they'd thought of it. After all it's just a model. Outstanding.
vintagercr Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 This is a killer kool build! Great details I have to agree
crazyjim Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 That's 1/25 scale? Unreal details. Beautiful. Can I ask the source of the rear tires?
Maindrian Pace Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Wow. Totally geeking out on all the details on this, I'll come back later and will certainly notice a whole other model's worth.
Snake45 Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Very imaginative, and different, and therefore interesting!
Jon Cole Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 That is just so kewl! Not enough superlatives to describe it!
FredRPG Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Wow, great detailing and clean design. Reminds me of all the outlandish show cars back in the 70's.
espo Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Something about the appearance of the body really draws you in. Then looking at the engineering of the chassis and the attention to detail really makes this build outstanding. Except for the driver's position, and that is somewhat part of the theme, it looks like something you would want to drive.
geemoney Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 hmmmI either want to go home and get to building something.....or jus throw my 600+ builds away!this is soooooo neat to me.
Earl Marischal Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Very imaginative, and different, and therefore interesting! +1 steve
bbowser Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 I'm not a big fan of "show rods" but this is very cool. Great imagination and execution!
