curt raitz Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 This model has been in the cupboard crying out "to be built" every time I opened it. Started out with Scalefinishes Aston Martin Almond Green, but found it to be darker than I wanted. So I mixed it with a few of his paints until I came up with a color I liked. Did not care for the kit wheels and white wall tires, so I picked up some nice wheels/tires from FPP. thanx for looking'...
bbowser Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Very nicely done! I've got the same kit (I think) in a Monogram box. How was it to build?
Dann Tier Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 I love this kit!! you did a fantastic job on it!! one of my favorite colors as well!
Danno Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Love it, Curt!! Beautiful job with one of my favorite cars of all time. You made it look even sweeter!
MrObsessive Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Curt, that is beautiful! I've got this kit too and while it's complete (I think), I was going to part it out to make a '61 Zagato trans kit I have. But after seeing yours, now I've definitely got second thoughts!
Can-Con Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Looks great. I like your colour better than "offical" A.M. green too.
Bernard Kron Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Very nice indeed. One of the classic designs initiated with the DB-2, perfected with this one and the DB-4 Zagato variant, and quoted endlessly, and surprisingly successfully often enough, by Aston Martin ever since. Shows what a profoundly important car this is. This model certainly does it just! The wheel/tire swap makes all the difference. FPP = Fernando Pinto?
espo Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Great looking build. I'm sure James Bond would approve also.

MrObsessive Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Ahhh! He makes GREAT laced wires! Just got a set from him not long ago, for a Heller Jag E-Type that's awaiting a resto. His are about a realistic looking as it gets as he's using actual wire and not PE.
waynehulsey Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Good job, another one that we need a new tool on. Since it would seem like with some preplanning a early and late series DB4 plus a Zagato version could be done and maybe even a DB5.
Art Laski Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Great-looking, Model, Curt! Those wheels were a nice choice.
