How many sedan deliveries were kitted and how many are still produced. I'm aware of the Model T pie wagon and the 39=40 Ford.

I believe Revell's Thames is considered a sedan delivery.

Would the old, much coveted MPC '33 Chevy panel be considered a SD?

The original annual AMT '67 Corvette roadster kit included a phantom SD top.

1926 Ford sedan delivery,31 Ford, 37 ford,39/40 ford. 39 chevy, 46-48 Chevy, 53/54 Chevy, 60 Chevy (quick silver/bad actor). In die cast there are more. Johnny Lightning made a die cast 57 ford sedan Delivery, and many resin casters have made some from the 40's -2000's

Two rear doors (Thames, '33 Chevy) would make them panel trucks for most people.  The '23 T falls into this category too.

Not too many kits out there ('53/'54 and '60 Chevies) but probably lots of resin.  Jimmy Flintstone's studio would be a good place to start looking.

Can't think of any more in plastic, except the one oddball described below.  But yes, many in resin.  I have an old '49 Ford SD resin body for the AMT kit, and a '53 Ford "Mainliner" that fits the Lindberg kit. Not quite an SD, but one of the weirdest resin kits I have is a '58 Imperial 2-door station wagon.

Oddball: the ESCI/Italeri/Revell 1/24 Mercedes 230-G off-road vehicle.  Not kitted as a panel truck/sedan delivery, but you can turn it into one easily with a little sheet plastic and putty.  Mercedes sold that version. They were used by the German army and others as an ambulance and general-purpose vehicle.  ESCI made it with 2 different tailgate treatments.  The Rally version has vertically split "barn door" rear doors. The Fire Dept. (Feuerwehr) version has horizontally-split tailgate/window doors, like a station wagon. It also comes with a generator, roof lights and other fire equipment.  Italeri has re-issued the Rally version and Revell-Germany re-popped the Feuerwehr kit.

Why, but you all seem to have forgotten about Heller's Mercedes 170V.

It was last released some ten - fifteen years ago, so it might be a challenge to find one nowadays. Sweet kit though.

I have a Revell 39 Chevy Sedan Delivery.

Do want to trade out any parts?  The guy getting the '39 Chevy SD is notorious for selling kits missing parts.  I don't know what, if any, parts I'll ahve to find for the one I'm getting.

You're right.  I have a couple of those on the shelf and forgot about them myself.  Duh!  I've seen them built into a killer street rod.  Here's the box art for that last issue of the "Lieferwagen:"

Like my Daddy always says, "You learn something new every day if you're not careful." Thanks! B)

I bought one of these on eBay in the last year from a US seller.  They can get pricey, but when I want a kit I set up a search agent and bid modestly when one appears.  Sometimes it can take a while, but I eventually get one for my price!

Ford did sell a "base" version without the stripes...not sure if it had the portholes or not.

AMT did a custom Pacer wagon that came with pieces to fill the rear side windows into a panel wagon. I don't know if they came with the recent re-release.
