This is the snap-together version, so it absolutely should come with a purple colored body. Re the Prowler: It's molded in metallic/pearl(ish) purple, black, light gray, darker metallic-ish gray (wheels), chrome, and clear. Seems to be the original concept car, not a production car. Just spent some time google-imaging and I couldn't find an interior photo where the dashboard matches what's in the box. Oh well, I'll polish the body and have fun with it. Should look good on the shelf with my Copperhead, Aluma-Coupe, Sting Ray III, and that sort of thing.

I almost bought on but kinda wanted to read some opinions on this one.... I'm liking it so far, but haven't done any assembly yet, just working on the body. There's a very subtle parting line all around the body upper edge I've been working on removing and then will polish out. I think it's from the same era as the Copperhead, the Mako Shark I, the '53 Vette promo, and so forth. I'm not a huge Prowler fan, but kinda like them. I think it's gonna look just fine on my shelf. Hope to finish it this week. Oh, BTW, I didn't care for the metallic gray the wheels were molded in, so I hit them with some Krylon rattlecan silver. Looks like it crinkled or crazed the plastic in a very minor way. This must be that "hard to paint Chinese plastic" problem I've heard about, but hadn't personally experienced yet. I'm gonna give the wheels a dusting of Krylon Satin finish and drive on. The wheels don't look bad; the slightly flawed silver still looks better than the metallic gray plastic, which reminded me of the so-called "silver" plastic that many model airplanes of the '60 were molded in.

I just assumed they would be issuing the full detail glue kit. Their glue kit(and Revell's issued at nearly the same time) were supposed to be really good kits. i own both, but have never got around to building them.

It rides on metal 1-piece axles. That's fine in the back, but of course there would be no through-axle in the front. And to add insult to injury, my kit is missing the metal axles! And the four assembly screws!! Edited September 17, 2018 by Snake45

I am going to pick one up. I would like to have a Prowler in my collection. A quick build is good from time to time. Thanks

On my older snap kit, I found some short screws about the same diameter as the axle and short enough to fit into the wheel back, and used those to replace the front metal axle. Of course, you'll have the screw heads to deal with, but a bit of paint will minimize them. Attach the wheels to the suspension before attaching the suspension to the body - I used glue on the suspension to body attachment to be on the safe side. I also removed the front fenders and both bumpers, which made a pretty decent looking rod.
Joe Handley Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 The snap/promo Prolwer kit it isn't bad, don't believe it's worth the $29.99 that HobbyLobby has on it though. Now if it was the glue kit, without a doubt, but not this kit. I may eventually buy one there with the 40% off coupon, but decided to go with the Lindberg '61 Impala kit when I was there on Friday.
Mr mopar Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 that ford van looks like it will be worth getting just for the decal sheet and tires !

Oh I don't know. I used the coupon on it and would say I had $18 worth of fun with it.

ChrisBcritter Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 (edited) Thank you, Chad. Still no news on that garage accessories/tool kit we're supposed to be getting from Round2? I like the Buick wagons, but if Greenlight did them in 1/24, I'd be all over 'em like blue on a Smurf... Edited October 3, 2018 by ChrisBcritter
Daddyfink Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 (edited) The Bearded Charmer has spoken! I see the van in my future, and maybe the Lightning as well. And yes, i do want the Slimer figure ? Edited October 3, 2018 by Daddyfink

No response to a direct question about them on their facebook page, nor after an e-mail message sent directly to Round2, either. I guess mum's the word.

Chris in Berwyn Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Regarding the AMT Lightning. I bought one when they came out, but I was never sure why. I am a serious builder, but when our friends’ boys got into rocket powered Estes cars, the dads decided to make their own with bigger engines, and the Lightning was my choice to soup up. And it turned out to be best engineered and the fastest! As it happens, I just harvested the seats to go into a Ford custom, and I think it’s got some other nice parts that may end up elsewhere.
