Geno Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Short of a few details it's done. Built as a curbside. Had to get it finished for the Toledo show this weekend. It's been a crazy year, I've only been able to get 2 completed so far. This and the '67 Firebird. I wanted this to be a what if, sort of a prototype by Mercury to test the market back in the day.
Snake45 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Different and therefore interesting! It's gonna take me a little while to get used to the look, but there's no denying your usual impeccable craftsmanship. Well done, and let's hope you soon find more time to Model On!
fordf-100 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Very cool! I always like to see "what ifs"! Makes you wonder if they ever talked about or sketched something up back then. Excellent build also!
Koellefornia Kid Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Oh... I had plans for something like that, too. Always thought a fastback-Cougar might look cool. Obviously you were faster than me. But it´s good to know that I was right, it looks great! Very nice work!
Geno Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 Thanks guys, I sure do appreciate it. It was a fun build.
Rob Hall Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Nice..looking forward to seeing it at the show.
DPNM Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Very nice build. Interesting concept car. Something I doubt I'd have thought about. As Snake said, it will take me a while to get used to the look. If you would, I'd like to see a straight side-view pic if possible. Either side.
Bucky Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Very nice result, Gene! The blue color suits this build very well. I'm currently working on a similar project, using a '67 Cougar, with a '68 Shelby fastback top.
Geno Posted October 5, 2018 Author Posted October 5, 2018 Thanks again guys, hope to see you at the show Rob. I'll work on getting more pics of it. My digital camera is dead so I'll do what I can with my phone. Keith, do you have any pics of your build? I'd love to see them.
Hmann68 Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Cool!! Love the color, and the fastback roof is great, that's the only thing I didn't really like about the cougars was the notch back roof line. They shoulda built it!

Here are a few shots of what I have, so far: I still have some work to do on the body, then it's on to the interior.
Geno Posted October 5, 2018 Author Posted October 5, 2018 Keith, that is going to be way cool. I'll be glad to see the finished project. Hope this one is a motivator lol. Blessings, Geno.
Geno Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) For Jim, here's the side view with a couple extra shots done outdoors. Edited October 11, 2018 by Geno
Tommy124 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Beautiful, those later shots do the model the justice it deserves!
Geno Posted October 12, 2018 Author Posted October 12, 2018 Thanks guys, I sure do appreciate it. On to the next lol.
