Old Coyote Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 ..... this model is a replica of a 1969 Chevelle SS396 that I purchased new from Plains Chevrolet in Amarillo, Texas ...... the model was sprayed with GM Touchup Teal lacquer, bench seat and column shifter were fabricated
Snake45 Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Very nice, very clean build. Kudos for removing the incorrect lower body trim strip. This model is so nice it would be worth the investment of some resin corrected taillights. Well done and model on!
donb Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Super clean build. Like that color too. Nice job!
Bucky Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Very nice SuperSport!! i like that color very much!
espo Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Great looking build. I also like the color. It's fun to build a model of previously owned cars. I have also done a few. I'll bet you wish you had this Chevelle back in your garage.
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 That's a great looking color on that car! Love it John!! Steve
Classicgas Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 (edited) Very well done. Speedway Decals makes a sheet for the 69 with decals for the headlights and tail lights. The tail lights also have the chrome surrounds. All you have to do is fill the existing tail lights and apply the decals. Here is a shot of them. Edited October 21, 2018 by Classicgas
bbowser Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Great model! The '68-69 is the best looking Chevelle IMO.

Last one of these I built (a glue bomb rescue), I filled the taillights and then painted the red lenses. Mine look better than the kit parts (almost anything would be an improvement), but these look better than mine.
58 Impala Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Nice job, great color. I had a 1:1 69 Malibu (wish I still had it), looking forward to Revells new tool 68 Chevelle. Rumor has it there might be a new tool 69 down the road also. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
drodg Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 Beautiful Malibu. Great job. Have you guys sanded down the 68 molding on the sides?
