Just finished this one today.  It is the Revell kit that I built mostly OOB.  No real problems in building it, just have to be very careful when mating chassis and body, the fit is really tight.  The blue Is Model Master Arctic Blue Metallic.  The tires have been detailed using the kit Goodyear decals and vinyl blue lines provided to me by forum member Erik Smith.  Thank you, Erik, they look awesome.

Well, enough of this chit-chat, its time to get back to the bench and start something new and wondrous.

Enjoy the photos.

Though I'm a long-term Ferrari fan, the Ford GT40 is my all-time favourite sports racer and

you did it really justice - very nice!

Isn't this the car in which Dan Gurney almost won Sebring '66?

Oh yes indeed very nice.  Once I get a batch of Mustangs done hopefully this summer I'l go on a painting binge and at least get paint on all the 66 Lemans entries.    It should less intimidating than trying to build a fleet of 427 Cobras like 65slotcar is doing.

Thanks to Gramps46 I added a few more Revell/Fujumi GT40's to the unbuilt stack.

Putting that #2 decal on the rear deck must have been interesting.

The decal s actually wider than it is was a flat surface and curved so it's not as bad as it looks.

Very well done, and just the right number of pictures. Too many posts have photos taken at (apparently) 10 degree rotations, and often have duplicates...nice job on the camera work!

What a great looking result. Outstanding build of a truly beautiful sports racing prototype. Great choice of a slightly unusual livery, and I think the sheen of the paintwork is perfect for a 60s racer in period.

Brilliant!

best,

M.

Just how did you get that Arctic Blue Metallic to come out looking like that!?  I've been trying to spray the body of a 53 Ford pickup, and I'm bout to probably have to start again cuz of spray issues.

Overall that is one sexy build.
