stitchdup Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 I built this from the tamiya ghia kit. I used an eightyone suburu engine to give it a bit extra go and lowered the suspension just a little. Initally the suspension was working but since I used wire for the connections it went fairly solid after assembly so next time I will use elastic to enable it to still work. For the seats I used some finger nail decals to add a little interest to them. The paint is deliberatelly thin to give the effect of an older car thats in good condition but not repainted. The metal transfers for the hood and side badging just wouldn't stick for me so for now they are missing until I find some replacements, and I still need to add the indicators to the front once I get more canopy glue as white glue failed to hold them on
echo Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 I like what you did with your model, all the thought you used in making it unique shows. Loved the stance.
89AKurt Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Very cool, with a turbo Subaru engine! Pirelli tires, haven't seen that tread pattern on a model before, for some reason always liked those tires, then their P7 took over.
espo Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Great looking build. This would make an ideal 1:1 driver. I like the slightly aged look. The interior seats and door panels look perfect.
Jim N Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Looks very nice! I like the aged look of the paint. Looks very realistic.
stitchdup Posted March 27, 2019 Author Posted March 27, 2019 Thanks guys, Kurt, the tyres are the fronts ones from an aoshima kenmary skyline
Bill Eh? Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 That's a great choice for an engine. The subtle, non-miles-deep paint job adds to the sleeper effect for this Kharmann Ghia. A model to be proud of!
Phildaupho Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 Super well done in all respects. The left off emblems has a nice subtle affect.
Ahajmano Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 Gotta say, I love the body color! These kits are rare now. Nabbed it from EBay?
