Yes they've had it here for 2or3 weeks, I bought the 1st one they got.

Find the person in charge of the model department, and ask them if they have it. I asked the girl, who was stocking shelves if they had gotten anything new, and she moved an older model, and pulled the Imperial out from behind it. She said that if a new kit is replacing an old one, they put the new one behind the one that it's replacing. She also said that they only get one at first, and then order more when it sells. I told her I'd take it, and she said she'd order some more, and shortly after that the shelf was full, and has been ever since.

Huh. I've been told they can't choose what they get. They order by a group sku number and the distributor chooses what they get.

I don't really know, I just go by what she told me(she's been in the model dept. since the store opened).

That's probably true with resets, but I think they can choose to get more of what's selling, and decline getting more of what's not selling. I guess you'd have to work there to really know how it works.

Picked up a '59 Imperial at the Hobart, IN location about a week and a half ago.

The one I'm waiting for now is the '68 Chevelle.  They've had the location on the shelf tagged for about a month and a half, but still empty every time I stop in.  According to others on this board, they've had them at other HL locations, but so far nothing here (or maybe they're consistently selling and they're not restocking the shelves quick enough?)

I work at HL and have ordered the model kits. We order the models individually. Sometimes they don't come for months, like the Foose truck this summer. Now there's no problem getting them. Keep checking and yes, it does help to find out who does the ordering for your store and make sure they know that you want a certain kit. Some of the girls have little interest and skip over missing kits.

Strange. What Don said is opposite what the manager at the one closest to me said. I contacted another and was told they would put in a request for the kit I wanted, but said the same thing about the group sku number. I don't get it.

They've got them in my area, also the Revell '68 Chevelle.  It appears that the local store managers might now have some latitude in how things are run.  I've seen where stores in other areas are still blowing out discontinued items cheap; the stores here aren't doing that.  Looks like they are no longer doing a stock reset at specific times of the year, but are instead phasing new items in one by one.

I purchased one at the Bloomingdale Hobby Lobby two weeks ago. Stopped by there yesterday and they had 2 on the shelf.

Man you guys are lucky. Mines had the same kits for a long time.

I remember when the only Hobby Lobby in Minnesota was in either Albert Lea or Rochester! I can't recall which (although Rochester makes more sense), I just remember it was "down south".

Has anyone seen The 1959 Imperial at your local Hobby Lobby? I have $ and a 40% coupon burning a hole in my pocket.

My closest Hobby Lobby's had the same kits for a long time too.  I stopped in yesterday.  Still none of the newer stuff: no Imperials, '60 Chevy pickups, Boss Mustangs or '68 Chevelles.

The '60 Chevy pickup must be a huge seller.  Several online vendors already show it as Out of Stock or Not Available. About a week ago I asked one vendor to notify me when it's back in stock, but no response yet.

No you all are lucky, the nearest Hobby Lobby to me is over an hour away...
