Fairfax Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Hello, everyone. This kit, I think, is also among the better ones from AMT. But I had trouble building because of my clumsiness. This was the original edition so decals were useless and the tyres were brittle and cracking, so I used a different set of wheels from the junkyard by the racing Toyota Supra GT Castrol by Tamiya. Fortunately, the Super Bee has big and wide underpasses under its fenders. Hopefully it fits a little bit.
Classicgas Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Very nice bit I gotta said it, your vinyl top is missing the seams.
Fairfax Posted September 25, 2019 Author Posted September 25, 2019 Thank you so much, guys. For Lee Rile: Yes, when I built it, I didn't know much about these things yet. Sometimes I go back to the models and finish editing, so I'll probably still go back to the model and finish them there. Thank you for the warning. : -)
Dragonhawk1066 Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Very nice, looks great in that color!
Tom Geiger Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Very nice model! Back in the day I had a 1970 Dodge Coronet base model. Those rusted like crazy around the rear windows!
Fairfax Posted September 26, 2019 Author Posted September 26, 2019 Thank you so much Tom Geiger. Wow, I'd like to have him, too! :-) :-)
Hmann68 Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Tough looking Bee! I started this kit about 2 years ago and got half way done then put it away, but yours makes me wanna dig it out!
TarheelRick Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Very nice build of an iconic factory hot rod. Makes me want to dig into my stack of MOPARS and build one.
RAMBENNA Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 great job, love it, love the color. nice work

And at somepoint in it's life the vinyl degraded and had to be removed. And the owner that hot rodded it sanded and painted the top part of the car to match the flat black hood. Therefore, no seams. Back in teh 50s - 70s, there was often an option for painted tops instead of vinyl. Over hte life span of hte car, that could be better option than the vinyl. Once the vinyl was compromised (cracked, split), water would get under it and rust quickly. So with the hot rod wheels (very Euro/tuner?), the lack of seams is really no big deal. Most all of my builds that aren't showroom fresh have some sort of backstory to reason out why I built it as I did. It's a beautiful build and reminds me of something you might see on Forza. thanks for sharing another great build.
Peter Lombardo Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 Very nice, really like the orange paint.... never cared much for the front end design on these Dodges, but overall it looks very well done, and coming from Europe, you wouldn't be as well versed in the way American vinyl roofs were done. Overall, nice job.
Shelby 427 1965 Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 Ooooo I love this. The mix of Asian and American stuff speaks to me. Seriously need to build a Coronet sometime, it’s been a kit I’ve always wanted. Ya may just have inspired me...
Fairfax Posted October 5, 2019 Author Posted October 5, 2019 Thank you guys so much for watching and nice sentences and encouragement. It's great when some of you finish your stakes of this Super Bee. I'm looking forward to seeing them here! Thank you Randy Carlisle for explaining more unfamiliar facts to me. I'm only slowly infiltrating the essence of American cars, and many of my structures can seem naive. You're a cool bunch here! Thanks. :-)

There are a lot of people here who know aLOT about the details of cars. Most will be glad to help with a detail if you ask. Stock around and keep sharing your heart builds. Being European, you are doing things we may not always think of and you are probably inspiring some builds along the way. I'm glad you're here.
