Brudda Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 Well just came back from ipms Las Vegas international show. Did ok. Talked to John Teresi and Art Latski. Super great guys!!!! They are very humble and the best modelers ever. They both had 1st place trophies. Well they both had several 1st place awards. To even be in the same room was a honor. This is what I accomplished today. 1
Beans Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 (edited) Why is it when there is an option of two parts, the one I want to use is molded in a way that makes it difficult? (rhetorical question) Back into the 1/35 parts box for 120mm tank shell (or maybe 105mm) Now stubby has a new steering column complete with gear indicator and shift lever. Still have to trim and cap the turn signal arm. Also played around a little bit with upholstery for the rear, and seat covers for the front. Edited August 23, 2021 by Beans
Modlbldr Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 Been passing time on breaks and such with this rebuilder 79-80 Mustang GT. I removed the decals the other day This morning I got a coat of primer on. Stuck it in the dehydrator for an hour, wet sanded and sprayed a second coat of primer. Now I'll hit it with another round of wetsanding and then decide on what shade of stock(ish) blue to paint it. Later-
TransAmMike Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 (edited) Repainted a flawed paint job on my latest build. Createx Airbrush Colors. I sanded the flawed orange paint and sprayed it with gold to cover the orange. Then resprayed the orange. Lastly, I sprayed another few light mist coats of the gold to get (hopefully) gold highlights. No clear on this yet. First full coats of gold over the orange After spraying the gold mist coats over the full orange coats Edited August 24, 2021 by TransAmMike

Modlbldr Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Painted the final color coats on my Mustang this morning after smoothing out a couple of spots. Went with Testors Viper GTS Blue pearl because it was on hand. May do some white or black graphics. Later-

I bet that this would look really good with silver or gray graphics, maybe with a little yellow, like gray stripes with a yellow outline.

oldscool Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I posted this onein Under Glass a few days ago but decided to add a couple of additional details. I've always wanted to do something with those empty corners on the custom grille so I decided to put turn signals there. Painted the little chrome bullets that come in the kit. Bullet shaped lights were a thing during the late 50s so I think they are appropriate. Also added some tailpipes from the kit. Now she's finished!

DiscoRover007 Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Finally got my Tamiya MX-5 RF painted. This was TS-95 Pure Metallic Red over Tamiya Grey Primer, then coated with Tamiya Clear Red then Splash Paints 2k clear to finish it. I was trying to match the Mazda Soul Crystal Red paint application. Very pleased with the results. 1
Rusty92 Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 Today I finally got my hobby room set up at my new place. I haven’t really built a model in over a year and haven’t completed one in probably closer to two. I hope to get back into the hobby soon! I need to re-decorate the room I think haha!

Looks like you have plenty of room. I look foward to getting to that stage. My accomplishment is something of a step backwards, as it looks like our house move should happen at the end of next week and I realised I'm not going to have time to finish anything off. Before: After: That lonely-looking little bundle contains most of my current WIPs. Spent a fair bit of time at that bench (actually an old drawing board), now it's on the skip pile and everything's boxed-up. The built models were packed and moved to my workplace a week or two ago, the unbuilt kits can wait a few more days
Mattilacken Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Have made some minor progress on the Silverado street race truck. The fixed steering have been made steerable.
Snake45 Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 Got all the foil work--side markers, door handles, and grille trim & nameplate--done on my glue bomb rescue '70 Challenger TA. As I got the body polish finished yesterday, and the rally wheels detailed last week, it SHOULD all be downhill from here.
Brudda Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 Picked these up from the nationals. Wire wheels for a Ferrari GTO. Completed one. They are really nice compared to the kit wheels.
Modlbldr Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 (edited) 22 pieces of houndstooth interior decals to get the seats covered on the Mustang because I had to use decals from a 69 Camaro. Later- Edited September 10, 2021 by Modlbldr
Beans Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Waiting on decals to complete a project so I made a ID card/holder/lanyard. and worked on a Ford Raptor interior...gotta trim up that seatbelt end though, its a little big...
Modlbldr Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Got the hood bulge on my Mustang painted with Testors Graphite Dust. Once I get home I'll tape off the rocker panels and hit it with the same. Thinking of a yellow or red pinstripe to outline the GD. Later-
JollySipper Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 That looks really good, Tom! Has more of a modern feel than just black for a graphic color.....

Just got the body taped off and the first mist coat sprayed. Hopefully I'll have a pic up in the next couple of hours. Later-
