lghtngyello03 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 (edited) Finally after a 2 year break from this one, I have finished it. It’s an AMT 55 Cameo. This had to be one of the most ill fitting kits I have ever worked on. Lots of work went into make it fit together halfway decent, and that’s what made me put it in the shelf for so long. The paint is Tamiya Mica Silver base coat with Tamiya Clear Orange. Wheels are Steve Zimmerman “Daggers”. Chrome is a mix of Some parts sprayed with Alclad and some with SpazStix. All of the molding and door handles where shaved, cowl and gas filler were filled. The interior is painted with Duplicolor Interior carpet dye, light sand color. The seats are from an SSR. The engine is an LS engine from the SSR kit as well. This didn’t turn out as well As I had planned but it is very good looking, and I am glad to have it completed. Thanks For looking Edited January 17, 2020 by lghtngyello03
57peppershaker Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Thats very very nice. Removing the side trims makes such a different to the look. Maybe I need to pick up an SSR just for parts. Is the engine cover part of the SSR kit ?

The SSR engine is absolutely the best decision I made for this build, lol. It is very detailed to be so simple. Yes the engine kit was part of SSR kit as well, I just sanded off the badging on it.

Lunajammer Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Wow, everything looks, overall, so good it almost looks like a 3D illustration. Definitely something to be proud of and worth the push to finish it.

Lol, Thanks Tom. The I saw the color in my head but I couldn't find anything mixed to match what I wanted. So Mica Silver Base with multiple coats of Clear Orange was the answer, haha. 9 hours ago, martinfan5 said: Very nice Thank you Jonathan. 9 hours ago, Sixties Sam said: Yes it is!
