Reuhkapelti2 Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) I started modifying the front end with no clear vision, what style this Shelby GT-350 would be. Then I remembered a left over Chevelle STW roof, and here is the result. Also put 429 SOHC engine with manual trans in it. Scratch built trunk compartement, roof rack, front end. Wheels and tires are from another Ford. Edited February 17, 2020 by Reuhkapelti2
stitchdup Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Cool, it looks like something ford should have built
espo Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Great looking conversion. I like the tinted band on the windshield. The paint work and the stripes look good together.
SoDak1 Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 If the nose had been left stock I'd say that was a factory built car. I love how you incorporated the rear spoiler instead of smoothing over like a typical wagon would be
Reuhkapelti2 Posted February 18, 2020 Author Posted February 18, 2020 Yeah I think the nose job was unnecessary, but there was an idea of a mean street machine, before the roof swap hit my brain. At that time major cutting had been done. A stock Shelby nose would have fit perfectly to this rapid family wagon. But I'm glad you buds like this kind of conversion.
Bainford Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Nice wagon conversion. You integrated the very well. It even has a factory look to it. That SOHC will make her haul the groceries. Very cool.
Scott8950 Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Very nice job on the conversion. it looks great.
NYLIBUD Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Very cool.I Wonder if there was ever a time in Fords past when they thought about building a Mustang wagon.Yours came out great.
Reuhkapelti2 Posted March 10, 2020 Author Posted March 10, 2020 Thank you everyone! I've read that Ford had thought about developing a Mustang Wagon. Here is the story http://www.mustangandfords.com/featured-vehicles/1605-the-saga-of-1965-mustang-wagon
