Steve H Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 I did this as a quick build. I was originally going to do a full detail, but decided on this version instead. I have recently started doing slammer builds between full detail builds. Keeps things fun. The chassis is a resin unit with molded-in axles etc. Wheels and tires are from Fujimi. Exhaust tips are aluminum tubing. I tinted the chrome with smoke clear. As an experiment, I tried smoking the BMF trim, it didn’t turn out as good as I hoped, but it was worth a try. Paint is Bahama Blue with a carbon fibre hood. As always... low!
Spottedlaurel Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 I think the darkened chrome has turned out really well, the whole thing looks excellent.
Painted Black Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 The rear view mirror really adds to the look..
michelle Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 (edited) nice work how did you do the carbon fiber effect paint job on the hood Edited July 21, 2020 by michelle
Steve H Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 Thanks for the kind words all. Michelle, the carbon fibre is done with decals, a google search would give you a few options.

Modlbldr Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 That is gorgeous! I like the smoked chrome idea. It turned out well. I have a stalled 66 Nova project that I started many years ago with a lot of subtle body mods. I have often thought about finishing it as a slammer since the project focuses on the body and not the rest. I think you have rejuvenated my project! Thank you! Later-
Koellefornia Kid Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Love the stance! The carbon fibre hood and the paint work great together!
