PatW Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Built box stock and added decals from the Fourgon Type H (1947-51)... With the later Citroen Type H. At a nearby garage..
Claude Thibodeau Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Hi Patrick! Like they say in France: "mais... c'est formidable!" . Bravo! CT
PatW Posted September 24, 2020 Author Posted September 24, 2020 Thank you Claude. Definitely formidable, we!
espo Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Great looking commercial truck. Very cleanly built.
Tom Geiger Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Very neat! I love that series of Heller Citroen’s! I have at least one of each!
bbowser Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Great model! Heller kits are quirky but they offer some cool subjects.
PatW Posted September 26, 2020 Author Posted September 26, 2020 Thanks guys, yes I've just started an Alfa Romeo 1750 Zagato by funnily enough Heller!

PatW Posted September 26, 2020 Author Posted September 26, 2020 (edited) Yes Bruce. I've started the engine, but through my research noticed that the heavily chromed wheels should be authentically in a black gloss finish. So they are going in the tub tomorrow or Monday to have some chrome stripper poured over them! 28/09 Update. My hardware shop owner had run out of the oven cleaner that I had previously used to strip chrome and said that he had bottles of neat Ammonia, and that the oven cleaner had a high percentage of Ammonia in it. So he said 'try it out' which I have, yes it smells really strong so I put the chrome parts in a used ice cream tub and put it outside with a thin coating of Ammonia. It stripped it in less than a day, so I poured hot soapy water over it all and a cold water rinse and hey presto no chrome and no awful smell! I have started to paint the wires with a coat of acrylic matt black today! Edited September 28, 2020 by PatW
kilrathy10 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Great job on this thing... Very nice work...
Modelbuilder Mark Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Missed this one somehow. Very nice looking model sir. I have considered the Splendid Hotel version, but was not sure of the quality, or if it had a motor etc.
Zippi Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Boy I got a tell ya. Nice to see something a little different. They both look great and I like the back drop you used. I like the Type H.
PatW Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 Thanks guys, yes they both have engines. Nice kits.
happy grumpy Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 Great job Pat, you might just push me to try my hand at it. I like those old trucks and cars.
