Quiet Eric Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 (edited) Getting the ball rolling, here's my most recent completion. AMT Old Pro kit...nothing too crazy. Just a few extra pieces from the parts box, flared the rear wheel openings, and added a resin L88 hood. Most of the effort on this one was spent in body and paint work. Not perfect but I'm still relearning some forgotten skills/techniques. It needs more detail paint work but good enough for now. Thanks for looking! Edited October 7, 2020 by Quiet Eric
doorsovdoon Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 That's very nice! I love the big fat rubber and those wheels, with the raised rear end it looks amazing. Very well done.
espo Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Great looking Nova. Very nice paint work and the trim is all cleanly done. You have the stance of the day here and the hood and rear wheel wells complete the look.
Snake45 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Looks like you got a pretty good fit on those troublesome front fenders. Great finish, too! Well done and model on!
Spottedlaurel Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Looks like your relearning is going well, that looks excellent.

larman Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 Awesome job! It reminds me of a car a kid I knew in high school had. His was about that color, jacked up in the rear, but a lot more ratty, lol! It did have a really strong running small block in it though.
TooOld Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 It's got the "look" we all wanted way back when , very well done !
johnny rocket Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 looks great, I just did one of these myself with the same era look. could you post some pics of how you flared the rear fenders
echo Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Very nice ! Subtle weathering on the chassis & wheels is nice to see.

I've been stockpiling that stuff while we can still get it. I think I've got three cans now. Don't even know what I'll use 'em on, but I'll use 'em on something.

So I used some Apoxie sculpt for the first time to make them.
jamesG Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 I'd say your paint and body work is spot on though zooming in shows you need a little work on masking around the rear marker lights. Otherwise, beautiful build.

Otherwise, beautiful build. The problem there was the detail of them is pretty light to start and sanding on the rear fender flares kinda made that worse. They've since had the marker lenses painted as I didn't have the right colors before. I'm steadily relearning what I need to pay closer attention to on the finish work though.
