e30lover Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 (edited) 74’ 3.0 Carrera RS is not as popular or well known as the 73’ RS that fetches crazy money on auction blocks, but when it came out it was a serious track-focused machine with 917 brakes and suspension from RSR. Porsche saw a good success with 74’ RSR which had later became a basis for the 934. It’s an old Fujimi enthusiast kit that I built back in 2009 and stayed in somewhat neglected environment. Bunch of parts were broken off and the whole body was caked in dust, so I did what I could to bring it back to presentable state. Overall it's a must buy kit for 911 enthusiasts. Original build summary: Tamiya surfacer and three coats of TS-14 black Polished w/o clear coat Hood was cut open and a few details were added to engine bay and frunk area Gold Carrera decals were not salvageable unfortunately Hope you guys enjoy! My current lens setup makes the photos a bit too soft for my likings but I'm working on getting another lens! 2 hours ago, iamsuperdan said: Really, really nice. Beautiful paint! Appreciate it!

Spottedlaurel Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Another great build from you. I like the look of it without decals, a bit more discreet.

AMT68 Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 (edited) That is an amazing polishing job. I would've thought that was cleared. It has that perfect sheet of glass look. Edited December 10, 2020 by AMT68
majel Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 Amazing paint job, love the weathering on the chassis/undercarriage.

Back then I was into polishing solid colors w/o clear. In retrospect it's pretty inefficient because you can never know until you polish through the paint. 14 hours ago, ChrisR said: Awesome! If I were to do it these days I'd add more brown to simulate the typical oil leak
