bisc63 Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Built a few years back, mixed the turquoise from leftovers in the shop. Going to build another one of these and try to round up that top, and drop the gutter line down. Paint is actually even, digital pics make it look a little spotty. (Photographer's fault?)
bisc63 Posted February 13, 2021 Author Posted February 13, 2021 Robbed the tires from Monogram 57 Corvette.
PappyD340 Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Another excellent build, looks fantastic!
alan barton Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Gee that looks sharp. I built one of these over thirty years ago and it sits at the back of the cabinet. It looks like your skill and your chocie of a factory colour scheme ahs gone a long way towards disguising the proportional issues of this kit. Nice job! Cheers Alan
TransAmMike Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Looks really nice Rusty, which Nomad kit is that?
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Came out a lot better than mine did.

Cheers Alan Yeah, this Monogram kit has it's issues, but once built, nobody's going to mistake it for anything but what it is. I like building the Mon. kits, and I'm going to build at least one more and try to correct a few proportional problems.

michelle Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 nice work i need to find one of these monogram 57 nomad and a monogram 56 nomad for two projects i have planed
espo Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Looks great. The colors were pretty popular on the Chevys of that era. Nice clean looking finish and trim. I was always put off of this kit not because of the subject but the way they designed the roof and side trim. .Liking the subject and seeing how far off the body was just hurt my senses enough not to build one. You made this one look good.

You made this one look good. Yeah, the side trim is a bit exaggerated in height, and the roof is a little flat and thin, but I'm going to try and address those issues with another build. Also going to transplant a more accurate floor pan/frame unit, as Monogram just re-used the frame piece from the 57 hardtop kit, so wrong gas tank area completely. Monogram chassis piece too over-simplified on these anyway, that's why I didn't post pics! Otherwise, with careful paint detailing and a few scratch-built details, and a BUNCH of foiling, it looks presentable.
BlackSheep214 Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Now hey there... she’s a looker! Well done!

Oldcarfan27 Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Great color combination. The nicest build I've ever seen of this kit! Well done.
