Kudos on your scratchbuiding skills as well as your perseverance.  Paint fiascos can be devastating so I'm glad to see you were able to resolve the issue and have it turn out so well.

Also happy to hear you were able to make the resin hood fit better.  I don't know much about using that stuff, so the hair dryer trick wouldn't have even occurred to me.

Thanks Monty, seems like I just can't get paint jobs right the first time.

Smooth as glass!! Outstanding! I'm glad it came out nice for ya!

Thanks Craig, I think it just may be the best I have done with black and it took messing it up (twice) to accomplish it.

Moving along here, lightly sanded and polished the rest of the car

Strange how things work out that way sometimes, lol. I have two of these kits and I think I might be dreading the foiling process also when I get to them.

I know what you mean about patience Mike.  I'm going to try bmf on my next project so explain it step by step if you don't mind.

I like the scribe of the doors and trunk. Makes them look like they open. In the distant past I have used the exacto to open several doors. Could not use fine saw as I kept scratching the sides.

Also, Fun Fact. I think I read the W block (such as 409) were made with 427 cu ins. Only a few were produced and were called 427W, I think. So you could put 427 emblems.  Or maybe not...   ?

Body looks perfect now. Interior is clean and awesome too. This is going to be one fine model.

Thanks Mark.....but now I have discovered the kit firewall won't work with the modified '66 Nova Pro Mod chassis and the Nova firewall will need extensive work. This whole project is getting to be a little too much for my old brain and skill level.

Nice work rescuing the paint job, I know how frustrating such a thing can be.

David G.

Thanks about the paint job, fix one frustration only to encounter another.

Mike, nice save on your paint, interior looks great.  Mike sometimes you have to walk away think about it and sometimes sleep on it.  I went to bed many nights and figured our a solution to my problem..

You are so right Carl. I probably should have done that several times over on this one.
