eastown Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Built from the extra frame and body parts from Double Dragster flat tin metal kit. 1
Zippi Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 That looks pretty kewl man. That's a big ole blower on there.
bbowser Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Now that's cool! Where did you source the 6-banger?
EngineerBob Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Very neat! I think I have almost all of those parts in my stash and didn't know what to do with them until now.
espo Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Great looking use of what was just laying around ? I especially like the blown inline six.
Earl Marischal Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 A splendid use of miscellaneous parts. I do like those old rails. steve
spencer1984 Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Very cool, that's a great use of the parts!
Dave Armstrong Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Really nice build, great use of leftovers!
papajohn97 Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 I love it Bob! Love the fact that you incorporated a blown straight six (a 235 Chevy?), a typical late fifties rail made in some dude’s backyard financed by his Mon-Fri job. Those must have been fun (and crazy dangerous) days. We all must have at least one of these extra slingshot dragster frames left over from the double dragster kit, your build is inspiring me to copy you here! Thanks for posting this very cool subject.
eastown Posted August 21, 2021 Author Posted August 21, 2021 Thanks all for the kudos. The engine is the six from the AMT 51 Chev . In order to use the extra frame, you do need to make a couple of very simple crossover pieces. But I did build 3 complete cars from this kit. Thanks for your interest. Bob
Snake45 Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 I love models built out of leftovers, spare parts, and castoff junk. Well done and model on!
