happy grumpy Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 Beetles have a special place in my heart, I have several builds of them. This one is the excellent Tamiya kit in bright yellow, it is fairly close to the one I owned back in 1979, although a 1969 with the full bumpers, the color is pretty close to the one I had. Alas almost all the pictures I had from my first cars are gone. I had a lot of pleasure with this car. 1
Zippi Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 Nice looking bug Mario. Years ago my father-in-law owned and operated a garage called Arrow Engine Service. He specialized in Volkswagen's but worked on domestic cars as well. I had a 1972 Super Beatle back then.
TransAmMike Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 Great job on the VW Mario. ? Like Bob, I had a few Beatles too and my Wife before we met had a '68 Convertable.
Dominik Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 beautiful Beetle in a friendly sun-yellow. love it!
espo Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 Very cleanly detailed looking. Great paint , but the attention to all of the little trim is what I first noticed. I have only owned one Type 1, a '67 with the metal sunroof that I made into a Baja Buggy since the right front tire was almost in the front seat when I bought it. I think you have to have owned one to begin to understand what they are about.
Spottedlaurel Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 A really nice job you've done there, and great photos too!
webestang Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Super nice job on that Bug! Very fond of the VW Bug. My first car was a 71 Super Beetle.
Tom Geiger Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Great model! Funny thing that I never owned a Beetle.. don’t know why! My father had a red one as his scoot around post car when we lived in Germany back 1969-72
ewetwo Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Really nice. I owned 3 VW Bugs in my lifetime. 2 with sunroofs and one convertible. Wish I had them now.
