Chariots of Fire Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 This model is now ready for the show case, fulfilling its role as the mule for a Class 1000 trailer pump. The WC-52 and Wc-63, both built by Dodge pulled these trailers as part of the Corps of Engineers Fire Fighting Platoons of WW II. They were placed in secondary roles behind the Class 325 pumpers that were built on 1.5 ton Chevy chassis and that used front mount pumps.
Classicgas Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) Well done. I assume 1/35? Who makes it? Edited January 2, 2022 by Classicgas

hct728(Bob) Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Wow, pretty amazing craftsmanship! Looking at the hood sides and fenders I see a proper scale thickness that could not be achieved with molded kit parts, well suited to the high level of detail seen everywhere else. Love the winch and cable detailing, and the realistic canvas roof, showing what can be done with imaginative use of simple materials and some know how, very inspiring!
Chariots of Fire Posted January 3, 2022 Author Posted January 3, 2022 couple of pics I forgot to include. The interior of the hood area is detailed as well. I made interior fender pieces from brass and enclosed the openness of the space. A pioneer set was also made up to go on the right side of the body. Shovel, axe and pick are mounted inside a rack that is secured to the front edge.
1930fordpickup Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Another home run from one of my favorite model builders. You always pick a great subject.

NOBLNG Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 This is an amazing accomplishment! Your talents are certainly second to none! I’m not into building military models, but I sure like looking at them….especially ones as stunningly detailed as this one. Heres a link to your build thread that anyone interested in scratch building should check out.???
