TruckerAL Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Got another one done and onto the shelf. Started out as a brand new Reo kit. Added about 1-1.5" to the frame, White Western Star front chrome rims, Italeri muffler, Kenworth W925 exhaust tip. It's painted with 2 coats of Testors purplicious, and 2 coats of krylon antique bronze and a gold pinstripe separating the colors. I hand painted the letters and logo on the mudflaps. Never ever doing that again lol. Other than that, basically box stock. Onto the next project, thanks for looking. Comments and such are welcome. Enjoy! 5
leafsprings Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 The modifications look great. The wheelbase is spot on and the 22" Alcoa's give it the custom owner operator look. Looks like a time capsule from the late 60's. 1
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Looks awesome! It captures that vintage look for sure! As said already, it has that west coast owner operator feel to it. Nice work! 1
happy grumpy Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Somehow, it looks better tan the original kit which always looked too short to me. I gig the color too. As for the lettering, how hard would it be for AMT/ROUND2 to make decals for mud flaps? great build Alex. ? 1
Mopar - D Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Nice build Alex. Do you have a trailer for it? 1

Me too, thankfully you'll be seeing much more from me, since that's all I build? 2 hours ago, happy grumpy said: Somehow, it looks better tan the original kit which always looked too short to me. They made decals for the white western star, but not the reo. I just usually make and print my own mudflaps. Quick and easy! 2 minutes ago, Mopar - D said: Nice build Alex. Rockford Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 Looks very good, nice straight build. Well done. 1
Rockford Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 A nice aluminum-sided van trailer would look great behind that! 1
kilrathy10 Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 This is awesome... Ask anybody... I love a good stretched frame... This one is beautiful... Love it.. Excellent work, Man... 1

vincen47 Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 I don’t recall seeing a frame stretch on an AMT Reo before. Like others have said, it looks really nice. Like the color choices for the paint, too. 1
1959scudetto Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Nice build, Alex, with the stretched frame - I will either stretch mine too or I will leave off the sleeper (kit frame is too short for a sleeper) 1
