mgbdriver Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 I'm building a replica of a friend's custom '67 Nova that has been reborn as the No Camino. I began by basing the body conversion on the Jimmy Flintstone Nova sedan delivery. After removing the entire roof section I grafted on a narrowed 65 El Camino roof section to the main body of the nova. Bed is built up using Evergreen sheet and square rod and strips. 4
Chuckyg1 Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Wow, this is gonna be cool. Nice execution. 1
NOBLNG Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 The original is really nice and looks like it was well done. It also looks like you are going to do it justice! Carry on Mike!?
cobraman Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 I think the 1:1 is very cool. I'm sure your model will look great as well. 1
mgbdriver Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 Added .010 evergreen rod to replicate wheel well trim 1
mgbdriver Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 Giving a go at replicating No Camino's seat pattern by modifying the bench seat from the AMT Impala kit by narrowing it and inlaying craft wire to create the border between the pleats and the flat sections. 3
1930fordpickup Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 The real one and yours are both very nice
Chuckyg1 Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Nice idea on the seats, I never would have though of that. They look good.

Steve H Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Hi Mike, this is awesome stuff going on here! I love phantoms, especially when they are as well done as this. Your bodywork looks fantastic, and the seats are very nicely done. I will be following along. Cheers, Steve
mgbdriver Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 thanks for the name suggestions but the 1/1 has already been christened. 1

Sorry to side track the thread Mike. I like what you’ve done with the wheelwell trim. I need to do that on a kit I’m working on, and will be stealing that idea.? Edited April 2, 2022 by NOBLNG
