I like this kit a whole lot. The subject is a big favorite of mine. This one was kept simple with some very minor changes. The feeling is that the car belongs to a High Scool senior with an "A" in shop class and a girl named "Sandy" and the year is 1964. IMG_0474.jpg.a6e5ed8adc547596d0f8de0c00eaa498.jpgIMG_0476.jpg.9585d6fb343c108fac18a5473c4eafcf.jpgIMG_0478.jpg.0fd08041f5ac3045f17501458c09f726.jpgIMG_0479.thumb.jpg.fb47fb3c0f1e07b95f57e72b999ebfc1.jpgIMG_0481.jpg.aa10560c4ee4932fd955f31ff8384887.jpg

This is a very stylish color combo, IMHO. I like my whites to have a bit of color like this; not a big fan of "Refrigerator White" on a car. This is beautiful with the dark red interior, and the tube grille is a natural. Nice job, you're crankin'em out!

Besides being a great looking build, I like the story line. This would look good in the student parking lot.

#######nice mild custom! really like the tube grille!

Those tube grilles were pretty popular back in the day. You could get them from J.C. Whitney. I spent a lot of time perusing their catalogs ?

Everyone,  I appreciate all your kind praise of this project but, really, the credit should go to the designers at Ford for this simple, elegant work of art on wheels. I've got to wonder, though, if it was the same crew that designed the '58. ?

Like the color combo, and the pin stripes really look period correct, but how did you texture the ragtop (it's great).

That's the way it came. I sprayed it with Krylon satin black but it looks like gloss?. Gotta hit it with dull-coat. I guess I didn't shake the can enough.

No one has commented on the diamond shaped back "window".  It was somewhat common to have a custom back window made when replacing your convertible top. Maybe it was a local thing. ? I dunno. East coast stuff. I remember seeing a back window shaped like 2 interlaced hearts (I couldn't figure that one out so I settled for the diamond.) It's just nostalgic nonsense for us oldies ?

Hi Jim!

Very classy, and period correct, bravo!

I'm curious about what brand/color you used for the body. It's really subtle!

CT

I checked on the color and I am almost certain it is Krylon Dual gloss ivory. ?

A classy classic!

Color combination is excellent, paintwork and assembly are well done and engine detail is great!

Nicely Done!

Good looking 53 Jim.  Love the color combo.  Just finished a hardtop myself a few weeks back.

Yup, I saw that. Reeeeeeealy tasteful color scheme. I have a hardtop kit waiting for me. These ford's look great in two-tone. Can't wait to start it. Thanks Bob. ?
