Modlbldr Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Just finished this one tonight. Since I (unknowingly) started with a bagged rebuilder of a 65 body and the rest of the parts being a 66- and no instructions, none of the custom parts fit and had to be modified. I wanted to build what would look like a factory custom show car. I think I succeeded. My favorite part is the interior with a floating dash and a steering arm instead of a standard column. Paint is Rustoleum White primer for the roof and Satin French Blue for the body with Testors White Lightning over everything. Enjoy! Later- 4
Zippi Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Man that is a good looking Buick. Love the two tone. I really like how you did the interior. Nice job. 1
Modelbuilder Mark Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Cool looking custom! I like the wheel treatment as well. 1
Kah puts Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 That's a great build, the colors are perfect, the nail head looks far-out, thanks for sharing. 1
ewetwo Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Wow Tom You blew this one out of orbit. Beautiful! 1

Calb56 Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Love the blue, when I was growing up my dad had a 64 Skylark about that color. 1
espo Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 The body mods really look great, and they follow the flow of the body shape. The interior features do look futuristic. I like the way the wheels look.
BeakDoc Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Stunning work, Tom. I think you nailed the look you were going for. I’d love to see more of that interior.

Street Rod Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Great Buick! I really like the custom work and the dash is a cool idea! 1
AMT68 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Great looking build inside and out and that is a very pretty color combination. I've heard of Testors White Lightning but I've never used it and was just wondering how did it impact the French Blue? 1

It is basically a light white pearl. Here are pics of before the WL and after.
AMT68 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Thanks Tom. I do see it and I'll have to try that product in the future. 1
XYHARRY Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Nice custom build Tom. It looks just like a factory concept car of that period. Colours work well. Cheers, David. ??
Slotto Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Love the baby blue paint and that futuristic interior! Nice choice of wheels too. I know you have a lot into this one. Nice job!
