BlackSheep214 Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Poor guy can't catch a break... https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/jay-leno-suffers-broken-bones-in-motorcycle-accident-months-after-garage-fire-report/ar-AA16O3Ka?li=BBnb7Kz
TonyK Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 At first I thought he should just stay at home but then I see his accident was caused by some dumb*** that had a wire strung across an area with no flag on it. Hope Leno sues him! Not that he needs the money but to make a point you need to be responsible. 1
iamsuperdan Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Garage fire in November, show gets cancelled this week, no this.
BlackSheep214 Posted January 27, 2023 Author Posted January 27, 2023 That's too bad. I really liked his show. I've always look forward to a new season.
TonyK Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Didn't know his show has been cancelled. You wonder for what reason. Jay, network, sponsors....? He had a way of bringing out the personalities of his guests. Fun and informative show.

Any more the shows are not worth wasting my energy to push the "on" remote button. Way too many fake reality shows or political innuendo/indoctrination shows.
1972coronet Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Can't -shouldn't - live one's life like it's a Fabergé egg. That's not to say, "Act irresponsibly" nor carelessly -- Jay's having fun and has the means to do just so. Kudos to him. Truly a friendly guy, too. "Just as everything's going fine/lose my grip and slide// bounce the rock/and/catch the ball// bound to fall..." 1

This is important, you can't have dangerous obstacles on your property even if you're trying to deter dirt bikes or 4 wheelers. Years ago, before I started working for my company, a kid was riding his dirt bike on a newly acquired easement. He ran under a piece of barbed wire that had been part of the old farm fence and basically got decapitated. His family took my company to court and my old coworker had to testify that he or no one from my company strung that wire.
slusher Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 I think that it’s a good time for him to take it easy and slow down. He is lucky he didn’t hurt himself or get killed. Time to enjoy his collection.. 1

Carl that's the way Jay Leno enjoys his collection , By driving each one once and a while so they aren't Garage queens like if they were in say a museum..... (it's also better for the car/truck/bike to be used once and a while than to just sit there looking nice.) 1

Here's your answer... https://jalopnik.com/jay-leno-s-garage-cancelled-by-cnbc-after-seven-seasons-1850040479 Apparently the network didn't feel his show no longer fit their image. ? According to some folks, there's no chance of his dhow being picked up to another network. Hogwash. There is one network that fits the bill: Motortrend Channel 1
NYLIBUD Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Yup I heard about this yesterday. And as Slusher said,I agree, the guy needs to slow down a bit.And yea it really sucks that his show (Jay Leno’s Garage),is ending.I’ve always been a huge fan of his, ever since he took over the Tonight Show back in the early 90s.IMO he was the best host of that show.I mean I just always thought the guy was hilarious, and have always admired his love, and knowledge of anything to do with his passion of all things,(cars).I hope he recovers well, and then maybe think about taking a vacation or something. 1
TonyK Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Thanks for the link. Idiot network decisions. Just what we need, more useless shows like Shark Tank. And reruns even. Disgusting. 1
89AKurt Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 He could just sit around and become a vegetable, and stay safe. Or he could enjoy his life, doing what he enjoys. I have no use for the legacy networks. I don't have cable, since 2008. When I stayed at a hotel last year, I couldn't believe the junk on all the channels, the only thing worth watching was Star Wars. When I spent time with mom over the holiday, we watched recorded shows. Man I can't stand all the stupid ads, nice to be able to fast forward. Leno can stick with ScrewTube, some car enthusiasts have become millionaires with their channel, blows me away. 1
Brian Austin Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Seven seasons! For any show that's a good run. There used to be a joke that at seven seasons the real money would be coming in with syndication. Sadly for me, Jay's show was on one of those channels I kept forgetting about, and so only caught a few episodes over the years.
espo Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 As for the show being cancelled, read on MSN this morning that is part of their programming strategy going forward this year. Seems they want to attract viewers to their new "rerun" strategy as opposed to any new programming.
slusher Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 Jay getting hurt twice did not help the show. Sometime his luck could run out and he gets killed.
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 I got rid of paid programming in 2014. Occasionally I watch my sister's house and am challenged to fins something worthwhile to watch. All of the programming went to "reality" because it's cheap to produce. Most of the auto related programming means shooting a bunch of material and then editing it down. That costs money to do. Now they are getting greedy and going to reruns which is cheap and there are no production costs. If enough people would cancel it would get their attention. Sadly most will shrug and accept the dreck. They've got too greedy with excessive commercials and producing cheap programming for premium prices.

I have to think he's known about the cancellation for a while, and has probably talked with a couple of potential new homes for this show. Hopefully.
slusher Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 Motortrend would be better and more then likely get a larger audience..

Episodes with Jay Leno and Tim Allen is always entertaining to watch. Funny to watch those two go at it in fun.
