Gramps46 Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 (edited) 1954 Jaguar #14 Le Mans OKV 1 Another build from out of the archive. This is a Strombecker kit that has had an engine and fin added and detailed to the 1954 configuration as driven by Tony Rolt and Duncan Hamilton to second place behind a Ferrari 375 Plus. Roger U Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 Very realistic model. Cleanly built and nicely painted.
happy grumpy Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 Great job on this classic. One of the most beautiful racing car of that era. Of course ,it's just my opinion.
Rich Chernosky Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 Pretty cool Gary...really luv the engine. Do you remember where you sourced it ?.
1959scudetto Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 Thank you for showing us this very nice model, Gary ! Did you take the engine from one of the - then available - E-type kits? Revell's XKSS could be a good base for building a shortnose D-type...

Ace-Garageguy Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 Beautiful model, great upgrades. Overall impressive. I like heem.
Dave B Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Looks great Gary, did the E type also donate the front end chassis etc.? Dave B
Rattlecan Dan Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Very nice build. Don't know why but it's always been one of my favorite Jags. Thanks for posting.
Pierre Rivard Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 This is seriously, seriously good stuff sir! That's a big transformation you took on and it has come together so so good. And the way you painted it, it looks like a fifties race car, smooth but just a bit of restraint on the gloss. When did you build it? I hope you will keep pulling stuff from the vault for us to enjoy.
Gramps46 Posted May 2, 2023 Author Posted May 2, 2023 Thanks to all for your responses. I just tried to check the front frame and engine and now I am not certain whether I used an Aurora or Revell kit for those as I don't have either one to compare.
Hoffman Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Fantastic, Gary! It's so accurate, convincing, and just really great looking. Well done, thanks for sharing!
