Just the picture gave me a chill up my spine!LOL
webestang Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Had a Texas Brown Tarantula in my basement when I rented a house about 8 years ago. About 4 inches. Scooped him in a box and let him go, way in the backyard on a fallen tree. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_brown_tarantula 1
ewetwo Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 That thing just creeps me out. It would be long gone if it was at my house. Creeps.
bobthehobbyguy Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 If the spider is outside the house I'd leave them along. Spiders eliminate bugs that are pests. If they are eliminated then those pests are going to become a problem. 1
Raoul Ross Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Would you rather have spiders or snakes? LOL "Mom finds snakes while staying at Wisconsin hotel with 4-year-old son" https://www.nbc15.com/2023/08/21/mom-finds-snakes-while-staying-wisconsin-hotel-with-4-year-old-son/
stitchdup Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 my sister calls me to catch spiders in her house. she will stand as far away from the spider in the same room to be sure she sees where it is when i get there. it doesn't matter what time of the day or night it is, she just wont be able to move until she knows its caught. and it has to be caught a special way too, one time i picked it up with my hand and she didn't speak to me for nearly 3 days (it was bliss, lol) i dont know what she does if a house she goes to in her paramedic job has spiders

NOBLNG Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 Snakes don’t bother me, but I have a healthy respect for any creature that could be dangerous. My wife however cannot even look at a picture of a snake in a book.? I just don’t understand that at all.?♂️

Mike 1017 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Please Say "Hello" to my ex-wife. I was worried that she would come back as a Black Widow. Mike

DPNM Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 (edited) I had a red legged tarantula back in the day. Best pet you own. All I had to do was feed and water it. Never had to clean the cage. No I don't know why but I didn't. No visible excrement to tend to. One of those pets that if you didn't want to hold it you didn't need to. I would just to freak out girls. It died in mid-molt so yes, molting is hard on them. I like ball pythons too, haven't owned one yet. Edited August 26, 2023 by DPNM
OldTrucker Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 I hate spiders but for some reason tarantulas didn't bother me. I was watching a friends in 6th grade while he was away over Christmas break and it managed to get out of it's home and I never did find him. I was afraid it would turn up in either my sisters or grandmas bedroom one day! My friend didn't get mad just said it was the second one that got away!!!

Toast Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 We had an Orb spider at our back door last summer. "Butt" was about as big as a nickel. I moved it to beside the shed cause the kids didn't want to go to the backyard. I looked a couple times to see if it made a new web there but never did. Must have said heck with us!
Xingu Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 We get a lot of spiders around the house, including Black Widows. I don't mind them when they are outside. The orb weavers are cool.
JollySipper Posted August 28, 2023 Author Posted August 28, 2023 That's a good pic...... If I see a Black Widow, I get rid of them! We have a bunch of kids and dogs here in the complex. Neither of those pay any attention to spiders and could get bitten....
Mike C Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 (edited) I had this big web show up on may patio last week. It was two parallel webs. Edited August 28, 2023 by Mike C
disconovaman Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 I seen a black wasp's nest forming in my garage last week so I decided to knock it down, I got it with the end of my shop broom and when it fell to the floor 1 black wasp came flying out but to my amazement a family of spiders (10 in all) the same species as what yours looks like were in the nest as well! I was in disbelief. after I took this photo for proof, I squashed em!? 1
JollySipper Posted August 30, 2023 Author Posted August 30, 2023 Guys, I guess she's eaten her mate! I don't see him anywhere........
bobthehobbyguy Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Hey that’s one way to get rid of a husband. No need for attorneys but it also eliminates the possibility of alimony. 1
