RickJ Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Just finished this one. It's an old AMT kit from around 2003. I found a hobby shop that had a number of old kits from a modeler who had passed away and his wife had brought them in to sell on consignment. I was inspired by post on this forum by Bernard Kron. I liked his use of the cove on the sides for use of contrasting. color. Rick 10
Mittagskind Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Oh very well done and a beautiful color combination. Great.
espo Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Great looking grill treatment along with the paint work. Nice contrasting interior color. Like the engine detailing.
Lobo2me Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Beautiful job. The wife of the deceased donor would be happy and proud! Well done!
karbuildr Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Very nice Stude. Looks good in the two colors, well done.
ncbuckeye67 Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Beautifully done! I love the two-tone idea (may have to try that when I dig mine out-Lol)
drodg Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Nice job. My dad bought one new in 1953. Beautiful cars
TonyK Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Very good looking model of a car I never liked but grown to like as I got older. Nice job.
Rattlecan Dan Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Very Nice! Always was, always will be a very uniquely styled vehicle. Your build seems to emphasize that. Nice job.
TransAmMike Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Very cool Rick. I always like those Studes.?
ea0863 Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 I love the two-tone finish, and the colors look totally period correct. Well done!
Bugatti Fan Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 That old Studebaker had lovely bodywork and very European in style at the time on the chrome and find era. A lovely model with innovative use of two tone scheme.
Falcon Ranchero Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 I really like this one! This is actually my next kit in line to build, I just got the kit last week as a graduation present. It’s the one in the tin box, part of AMT’s postal series. Your example is actually what lead me to the forum; I was searching google images to find a paint scheme to use on my Stude, and I saw yours and clicked on the photo and it sent me here. I am inspired to use the cove idea for a two-tone as well.
