TonyK Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I like these old simple Monogram roadsters to build once in awhile. This is Jack McGrath from the 1954 Indy 500 using Indycal decals and Rust-Oleum ivory paint. Changed the exhaust exit and altered the pipe a bit otherwise it's fairly close enough for me to not bother with anything else. 9
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 Bingo! All of the great details and the job on the driver.
Pierre Rivard Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 This is cool! I've built a couple of vintage Monogram race cars and although they are simple kits they look beautiful. Congrats on a beautiful build sir!
Rattlecan Dan Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 That is super nice. Kind of car everybody my age used to think of when somebody said an " Indy car ". Nice job. Thanks for posting.
Bugatti Fan Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Those old Indy front engined roadsters have been quite under represented in kit form down the years.
Dave Van Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Nice work!!! I like FE Indy cars. I have a resin Mallard I need to build!
Dan Hay Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Looks great! Thanks for the Indycals link. I had no idea they existed.
Phildaupho Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Glad this came back. I really like it too especially the shape, the color, the Mobile Pegasus and how the driver is steering into a corner.
