Steamboat
I'm calling this one done after a 3 year build. It's a replica of my first car, a '72 Chevelle base model in Ontario Orange. It had a 307 2-bbl, Rallye wheels, and a half-vinyl top. The white side moldings were challenging as I've never done those before. I ended up gluing some styrene strips on with liquid cement, and then carefully taping them with Tamiya tape before shooting the color coat of Testor's enamel with my airbrush. The clear coat is Model Master enamel clear, polished with rubbing compound only. Minimal 3d printed parts on this one, limited to the headrests, outside door handles and air cleaner snorkel. The hood was modified to remove the hood bulge, and then cast in resin (I find that bodywork deteriorates over time and shows seams, etc. while a resin cast is "locked" in time). The grille, front and rear bumpers are also resin. The original rear bumper was so covered in glue that it was unsaveable. The grille in the kit more resembled a Monte Carlo than a Chevelle, so I cloned the grille from another Chevelle. A member of this group donated the wheels several years ago. Thanks! Hope you like it. Questions and comments are always welcome. There is also a build thread in the WIP section.

drodg
That is a great job. I spent a considerable amount of time in a friend's 72. Green white vinyl top and those exact wheels.
Slotto
She looks great. Love the engine bay and how you introduced some wear
espo
Great looking paint finish and the trim you added, and the vinyl roof looks good. Always fun building a beloved vehicle from the past, especially your first.

Hard_2_Handle_454
Looks amazing! A lot better than the AMT 72 kit I got so I could try to replicate my Chevelle as seen in my profile pic. Nice work.

The grille in the AMT kit looks like a Monte Carlo. The rear pan is connected to the rear bumper, which I liked. This build is a combination of the best parts from both kits.
karbuildr
Very nicely done. Excellent rendition of a base model Chevelle. Well done weathering of the engine too.

I had fun with the Challenger but IMO the Chevelle was a much better car.
