THarrison351 Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 I can't say I enjoyed building this model, but I'm happy with the results. Round2 brought back this old kit with the motorcycle and gangster options. I passed on those, but the rest looks OK. Typical sixties MPC issues, with fiddly chrome, vague locations for parts, etc. I'll never understand how kids finished them years ago. I added a missing upper radiator hose and the rumble seat does not work, it's either open or closed. The golf bag hatch on the side will open, I just didn't take a picture. Anyway, last build for the year, that makes fifteen. With top on My green I used was brighter than I wanted, but it was all I had on on hand Initial mock up Tamiya Gloss black and Alclad II chrome for the wheels I used Tamiya gloss aluminum for the silver. Masked with bare metal foil. The newest it terrible! leaves residue behind! Ugh! Guess that's it! Thanks! 8 1
karbuildr Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 Despite the typical MPC issues from this era, you did a great job on this build. Very attractive in silver and black, and your engine looks great as well.
TonyK Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 That finish is excellent! Beautiful car. I plan to do the gangster version as I don't want to attempt a perfect paint job like yours but the overall model looks like a lot of work.
Rattlecan Dan Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 The black and silver paint job is very sharp. Nice looking build.
Richard Bartrop Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 (edited) They are a struggle, but you did a nice job on yours. Edited December 20, 2023 by Richard Bartrop

TooOld Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Beautifully done Tim , looks great in silver and black ! I built a couple of these when they first came out . . . I was maybe 14 or 15 and yes they were a challenge but maybe we didn't know any better .
Hi-Po Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 That is one good looking build! Great color choice, also.
espo Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Beautiful looking body and paint work. Clean looking trim details.
restoman Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Very nice! I'd be happy with how that one turned out, too.

Yeah Nah Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Beautiful model Tim! I hear what you're saying about how on earth kids got them together back in the day. Glad my old man wasn't Homer Simpson: "Bart, if something's too difficult then it's not worth doing.''
Hoffman Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Very nice! Great colors. The chrome wheels look sharp! Thanks for sharing the pic's.
Zippi Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Nice build. They were really Big cars back in the day. No way one of these cars would fit in a modern day garage. Really nice looking.

I have several 1/24 20s-30s luxury cars from the Mints and none fit in the standard plastic display cases.
