Matt Bacon Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 No need to pay bonkers auction prices any more in ‘24. That’ll please many! best, M. 2
dbostream Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Great news. I already have one but might pick up another one just to encourage them to reissue more from the classic cars range.
Fat Brian Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Awesome, I've been eyeballing them for a long time and never felt like paying the ridiculous price for one.
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Super!!!! I should have bought one when they came out. Definitely remember the release back then. Getting one for sure. In 1:1 scale I have owned 6 Alfa Romeos of which one was a 1974 GTV. Pretty close body style. Wonder when they will be available?
Justin Porter Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 Hugely excited the Giulia is coming back. It's a jewel of a kit and I'll look forward to building it once again.
Spottedlaurel Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 Never had this one, but certainly looking forward to getting one. 3 hours ago, Justin Porter said: Hugely excited the Giulia is coming back. jaymcminn Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 Sweet. Have to pick one up to restomod since I built one stock way back when.

Also a Clear Bodied version of their 300SL. For a show they have been dropping a new tool at for the past several years this go around was a major snooze-fest. I guess there's always hope for a Shizouka announcement...otherwise we're waiting until Fall for anything new. 1

Do you think it will do well in your store? Oh definitely! The Tamiya classic sports car reissues have been strong sellers because they're fun builds of desirable subjects and generally Tamiya has kept the MSRP on these reissues to under $40. Case in point, the little Fiat 500F that just came back to shelves I was able to hang a shelf price of $26 on. That's a lower price than most of the Revell catalog, let alone Round 2. So builders who aren't strictly interested in classic American cars are getting nicer kits at lower prices. 2 1

I was pleased to see Hiroboy already have it listed here for pre-order, £32.98 on the Alfa and £24.98 for the 695SS (same as the 500F).
stavanzer Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 Full Engine Detail, Left Hand Drive, and a very Tamiya Like Interior! What's not to like? Directions. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/7/7/7/104777-36-instructions.pdf
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 So very good. Will bring back memories of my 1:1 scale 1974 GTV. Thanks for this.
Craig Irwin Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 I would love to see a 70's 1750 / 2000 GTV kit.

beeRS Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Super excited for this one. I have one already in the stash, but too scared to build. Now I'd like to build a couple of different colours/versions of this. Hopefully with the availability of the kit the after-market will create some PE detail sets. Now all we need is the return of the Tamiya GTV.
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Thumbs up! Decades ago I built the Gunze Sangyo kit of this car. I also built their version of the 1750 competition with the flared fenders. Check out the Gunze Sangyo line. Def ready for this one. 1
