Sad rant coming on. I came across a box of paint cans and put them on the shelf. There were several cans of old school Testors paint, I think the oldest was from around 2003? They were from way before the Rustoleum purchase. Anyway, I did a test squirt of them and they all seemed to work. Then I tried the  Model Master cans. 4 out of 8 were bad. Either they'd sprung a leak like this one, or they sputtered blobs everywhere. What's worse is I really liked their colors made for specific car makers, especially the muscle colors.

Even the old Tamiya colors and the full size Krylon cans seem to be okay.

Turn the can upside down so you don’t lose any more of that binder (or whatever the proper name is). Then you should only lose propellant in the future. The remaining contents can still be decanted and sprayed through an airbrush. Even the blobby ones should be able to be decanted??‍♂️

The assumption here is that Gary has and uses an airbrush.

Or if he loves the color that much, he’ll buy one.?

I think I had that very same color do that to me so I found a model in my stash to build and used the rest of the can. Seemed to work fine.

I have more trouble with Testors nozzles. Even after turning the can upside down to spray it clear the next time I use it the nozzle doesn't work right.

Some or perhaps all spray cans have a wax plug in the tube. Over time it dries up and so you may need to spray it out by removing the nozzle, holding the tube away and pressing the valve with a steel wire bent like a J.

Do this outdoors...

You don't want the dried wax in the nozzle or on the car body. Many have probably thought that this mess is paint but it is not.

If some of the paint/binder leaked out of the can at the bottom seal there is a good chance that the propellant also escaped, so there is no pressure inside to spray the paint out.  That can be easily verified by trying to squeeze the can with your hand. If the can gives in easily, the pressure is gone.

That blob might seal the leak for a while, so I wouldn't remove it or g.ive up on the can try it and see what happens.  I have successfully used three cans with that problem. But once you notice the blob you should use it before the leak gets worse.
