Chris in Berwyn Posted February 4 Posted February 4 It’s been about a year since they were late with the video. The rumor then was Chad was cavorting with Taylor Swift, and with the Super Bowl coming up that could be what he is doing this year too. looking forward to seeing what new plastic is on tap. 1
tim boyd Posted February 5 Posted February 5 According to the latest episode of a recurring video program posted at finescale.com - the online presence of Fine Scale Modeler magazine - Editor Aaron Skinner has resigned and will take a role at Round 2. I do not recall his exact title (it is mentioned in the video), but it sounds like a senior management role in product development. Wonder if any of that is related to the video timing mentioned above? TB 1
Rob Hall Posted February 5 Posted February 5 The January video was posted to YouTube on Jan 6th. This is only the 4th, and the 1st and 2nd were on the weekend. It will probably be up this week. For Feb the only kit release I know of is the Mustang II reissue.

gtx6970 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 1960 chevy wagon. 1965 Barracuda 1972 Duster. Finally. Something I will open the wallet for. All 3 2
ranma Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) The Cuda and Nomad won't be out till near the end of the year. If things keep going the way they are the Nomad will be Closer to $50.00 on the shelf! Edited February 5 by ranma
drodg Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Love the 72 Duster and it gives me an interior to do my 72 Demon with the 71 body. Kinda hope they put correct center caps on the wheels but not a big deal. 1
Chris in Berwyn Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 I’m impressed they continue to invest in the model side of the business - the addition of Aaron Skinner seems like a great idea!
espo Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Going to use the '60 wagon roof to convert a '59 Impala body into a wagon I had years ago. Make an "S" Barracuda model and maybe a Hang Ten model Duster as well.
Mr mopar Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Barracuda yes Duster yes ! But would still like to see a '70 Duster 340 . 1 1

I have an MPC 1972 Duster builder kit So that one is not tops on my list. But a friend of mine owns a 1972 Duster. So,,, I will be getting one to build his car Edited February 5 by gtx6970
iangilly Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I cant wait to hear all the "experts" complain about the 72 duster and barracuda. 2 kits that haven't been offered in 50+ years and someone will have something to take issue with. 1
Radretireddad Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I too, eagerly await collecting all three, however, I wonder if we’re entering a phase where it is no longer profitable for kit manufacturers to tool up complete, fully detailed kits of subjects that have not yet been kitted or versions of existing subjects that would require a substantial redesign of the tooling.
lordairgtar Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I like all three cars they are working on. The Chevy because I like station wagons, and also two of my fave MOPARS.

It would be interesting to compare sales figures for car kits vs. Star Trek vs. 1/18th scale diecast.
Daddyfink Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Add the MPC Hemi Under Glass chassis to that 65 to make a correct Plymouth Dealers Funny Car! 5
Jordan White Posted February 6 Posted February 6 A few items I saw on Facebook, looks like the lifted ‘81 GMC pickup is returning with some cool new decals (hopefully)! 1

Those "Desert Fox" style strips seem to be very popular with the square body guys right now. Edited February 6 by Can-Con 2

The first thing (well, one of the first things) which grabbed my attention was the proper sans console floor that's in the '72 Duster 340 ! IMO, I wouldn't concern myself with the centre caps ( one-year-only in 1:1 ! First year for the 'acorn' caps, last year for the (asinine) small bolt pattern rims), as Fireball offers superb Rallyes with separate caps and trim rings ( I bough the set which are sans the trim rings - perfect for the Demon Sizzler / Duster Twister . Likewise, the '72 upholstery pattern will lend itself nicely for the '72 Demon conversion ( Few Sprues Loose ). 1

I would suggest that Moebius and Revell have already disproven this theory. IMHO, Round 2 has discovered a new niche that was opened up by new technology, the equivalent of digitally remastered classic kits for which the tooling was lost or scrapped decades ago. There is still a market for the subject matter, and enough nostalgia among builders that they can appreciate getting something back (and improved) that was thought to be long lost, even if they are much simpler than most modern full detail kits. I also theorize that there are builders who can be just as happy putting together a simplified kit, as long as it looks great in the end. More detail can always be added, as desired. It’s all good, IMHO. 3
