Repstock Posted November 11 Posted November 11 (edited) After a few years, I finally finished this project. Everything is kitbashed or scratchbuilt. I need to find something new to focus on. Model is 1/25 scale. Boy, photos sure show flaws that aren't apparent in person. Well, my eyes aren't what they used to be. Edited November 11 by Repstock 22 3
Zoom Zoom Posted November 12 Posted November 12 That is amazing! Nice work 😎 Well worth the years of effort.
Kanada Kustoms Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Brilliant build... The weathering on the bottom and the attention to the inside take it way over the top!
Shark Posted November 12 Posted November 12 My eyes must be bad too, I don't see any flaws, just excellent workmanship. 1
Big Messer Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Great model!. About the "flaws" (that I can't see) John Allen, a great model railroader from the 40's on, said that taking a picture of your model printed in a large format will show all unrealistic things or faults.
Phildaupho Posted November 12 Posted November 12 This is absolutely fabulous. It brings back memories of a ski trip/road trip I took to Sun Valley with a couple of buddies in the earlier 1980's.
89AKurt Posted November 12 Posted November 12 I don't know much about motorhomes, but I remember these roaming around. That's awesome. Yea I take pictures during a WIP just to find flaws, just admit it and use as a tool. You must have taken a bunch of reference photos? And measurements? Drawings? I have a resin Futureliner from a GSL to do something with, this would be one idea. What did the chassis start as?
DJMar Posted November 12 Posted November 12 That is absolutely astounding. I can't imagine the drive needed to scratchbuild or kitbash just about everything on a project that's this involved. Having spent a few summers in a 70's vintage Winnie, I can tell you that everything on this build, from the carpet color to the chassis weathering, is very, very well done.

(Don't remember which, I had some lying around). 1
iamsuperdan Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Flaws? I think you're nuts. That is just fantastic. Excellent work!
lvfd221 Posted November 12 Posted November 12 That is an amazing build. You have some great building skills.
Dave Van Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Great work overall.........weathering is well done too.
Rob Hall Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Wow...beautiful build...I love old RVs, especially Winnebagos.
Oldriginal86 Posted November 13 Posted November 13 In the early 70’s my parents had a StarCraft pop-up camper that we camped in from Maryland to Yellowstone park and back. We saw many of those motorhomes on the way. You captured the authenticity of the “land yachts” with the avocado colored appliances and flowered upholstery. I can almost smell the propane stove and refrigerator. Thanks for the flashback and well done on this long term project.
Mark C. Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Not seeing any flaws. However, I am seeing a beautiful stratchbuilt model of something that used to be relatively common but is now quite scarce. Very cool!!!
WillyBilly Posted November 13 Posted November 13 I am sure you are the only one who sees the flaws in your work. All I see is road trip!😀 Outstanding job.
TonyK Posted November 13 Posted November 13 This is one of the most amazing models I have ever seen! There are no flaws. Only perfection. The chassis weathering, the interior, everything is great!
Repstock Posted November 13 Author Posted November 13 Thank you all for your kind words. I appreciate it.
BK9300 Posted November 13 Posted November 13 An exceptional amount of skill was needed to craft this from scratch - and such a bonus for us to be able to see the inside, in all its detail, as well. Just amazing!
