Irvin Arter Jr.
I got this original AMT 1968 Impala Custom (it’s really a 67) from MJ. It was used and Mike repainted it with Boyds orange pearl before I got it so I left it alone. I foiled it, painted the original custom interior and added aftermarket wheels and brakes. I added a Revell 69 Camaro front spoiler, aluminum exhaust tips, photo etch “SS†on the grill and Impala’s on the rear roof. It is a curbside so no motor. After I shot the photos I realized the rear bumper slipped down so I will have to re epoxy it. Enjoy!
Mr. Metallic
But the 3rd pic isn't showing. You left the space in the html between the "bracket" and the "img" Why does Fotki do that? It's such a pain to constantly remove it. Nice Impala. Love the color and the custom roof treatment.Kind of a big blind spot though, lol. Nice as always

bob paeth
For those who wonder about the rear window treatment, I do too ! This was supposed to be a "cool" custom idea that AMT came up with. I remember cutting the window open in the first one that I built. Bob
Daniel Peterson
Unusual? Uh, yeah, it is. I really like the stock version of this car to start with, but this treatment is sweet! Nice work, Irv!

Bob Ellis
I found this kit on a store shelf in 1973 along with the MPC 1968s. I left the sealed AMT and bought the MPCs. Your build is beautiful and makes me think differently now.
Can-Con
Looks cool Irv. I've always liked the look of that car. If I could find a copy of the front and rear custom parts I'd do one with the newer kit. Looks to me that the older kits got the lines of the rear 1/4s more correct than the new one though. geetee66
A real head-turner!Very sleek and beautifully built.I like seeing the custom versions built up. It makes a nice change. The long, flowing lines make those big rims look right at home .
