Erik Smith Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 (edited) Ahhh...A finished model. Revell made a fantastic kit with their 1962 Impala and it builds into a fantastic model. Here is mine: Out of the Box "plus" Body is Duplicolor Light Champagne Metallic with Krylon Crystal Clear. Really no issues with the construction of this kit - other than my own blunders. I had to redo the rear bumper/tailight area a couple times. My original intent was to just dull coat the area above the bumper. I messed that up twice and had to strip the whole thing to bare plastic. I then painted the upper portion with Alclad Aluminum, masked off for the bumper, and sprayed that with Alclad Chrome, and some BMF for the trim. Thanks for looking! Carmikeman Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 rite off the showroom floor! very nice and clean build.
DRG Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 An excellent build of one of the best Chevrolet's ever made.
Janne Herajärvi Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Thats good looking Impala. `62 year model Chevys are my fafourites
W-409 Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I like these X-Frame Chevys. This one looks good, it's sometimes great to see one which is not a bubble top. In 1:1 bubbletops are better, but in scale that thing is different. Model looks good, paintjob is great and color fits well. I like the wheels and tires, engine is looking also great, detailing is simply amazing with this. Keep going, I'm enjoying of these, I have one glue bomb '62 Bel Air, I must take that one to my table, when I decide, what I'm going to build from it.
W117monte Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Super clean build! The color looks right, as does the stance. Nice job.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Great looking model. Goes to show how good you can go (and how far) with box stock and few other details. Great job.
kenlwest Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Very close to real! I like the rear end treatment. Nice job! My first car was a 62 Biscayne 4 dr 6 cyl... Not a classic at all, but it was a good car. Ken
Canuk Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Love it! Your build inspires me to take my time on mine and try to do it right.
Randy D Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Oh my, that is just sweeeeeet!!! That last pic of the rear end is awesome Randy

Matt T. Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Nicely done! Clean build shows off the great lines of the '62, even in showroom-fresh form.
sjordan2 Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Excellent detail and finish. That grille is awesome.
Guest Johnny Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Made me flash back to 62'! Had a next door neighbor bought a two door sedan Belair that color and not wanting to be out matched the guy the other side of him traded his 61 Impala on a 2 door hardtop Impala that same color!! (I liked his White over Blue 61' bubble top better!) Sweet looking 62"!
LAone Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 wow, that is a fantastic looking impala. looks like it just rolled of the lot.
Sixties Sam Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Great job on that Impala! I like the wheel treatment - gives it a stoplight racer look. Great engine bay detail, too. Excellent work! Sam
