Seems like shoe box Fords are popular, here's one I've been working on for a couple of months off and on.

I lowered the suspension and installed resin brake drum detail for the rear of the wheels.

I wanted to use the Lincoln motor from the 25 T kit but didn't like the trans, so it was replaced with the automatic from a 67 Fairlane GTA.

I wanted multiple carbs, these came from the 53 Ford pickup, the bells are from Michaels and I wired a distributor.

painted and detailed the chassis.100_0077.jpg

the wheels and rear tires came from the 41 Lincoln, the front tires were opened up to fit the Lincoln wheels and painted the same color as the interior

I painted the body with nail polish, Malibu Girl, Indigo, and clear coated it with Future.

the exhaust is a combination of Fink 32 pipes, 53 Ford pickup headers and aluminum tubing

I'll add some more pics.

Overall it was a fun build, I got to break out my airbrush that I haven't used in years and try new techniques,( I was pulling my hair out with the foil ) I've got a lot to learn but it's fun and relaxing, which why we do this, right?

Verrry nice- I like the stance. by "the bells are from Michael's" do you mean the intake trumpets? And if so, are they actual bells? Where do they have them?

Yes, very nice build!

X2 on the intake bells!

I'm working on 2 '49's, an "old Scool Gasser" and a '50/'60's style custom. These are "Gluebee" projects that were already built. I love taking something worthless and turning it into something worthwhile. I was going to put Cadillac engines in both cars, I used to work for and drove a Cadillac, but now, I'm leaning towards the Lincoln engine. Last Friday, I found a '50 convertible frame to use on the "Gasser". It is stiffer, with an "X" brace in the middle of it the coupes don't have. This is a WIP.

I love the looks of your maroon car. The Lincoln wheels and engine was a unique and appropiate modification to this kit. Very, very good work!

You built this from one of my all time favorite kits and did a fabulous job, Congratulations! I also love the hot rod Lincoln idea, I may have to steal it. Nice colors and I love the lowered stance on the front end. Excellent!

Thanks for the input guys, it was a fun build. I was thinking Hot Rod Lincoln too.

Jason, the "bells" are eyelets from the beading isle at Michaels, they have several sizes and colors available.

Looks real nice. I have been looking at this and your convertable both. I realy like the style of your build. Now I have to dig out one of these kits myself. Keep up the nice work.

Really nice looking shoebox. This is one Ford that I really love ever since I read an article about a custom one made for Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top. I think his was called Copperhead or something like that. I think that the wheels and the colors are suiting the car perfectly. I guess I am not saying anything different than everyone before me, but anyway....

About that engine....which kit did it come from and did it come with this whole setup? The intake and the carbs and everything?

Once again, cool model.
