I'm a retired Special Ed teacher, and it's good to see that someone proved me right.

...and a lot of other people wrong. ^_^ Congrats on receiving your Master's Degree, Charlie. :)

When I was in second grade, my parents were told I was sufficiently learning and possibly mentally-disabled, that I'd never see a high school diploma and if I could get a menial job, to be happy I did that.

I wonder what those teachers would say if they saw me today, as I received my Master's in Education?

And yes, those are my parents. Sometimes, I'm not sure if they believe it, either!

Congratulations, Charlie! That's a hell of an achievement! You need to make some copies of that degree and send it to those that doubted you with a note telling them where they can stick it.

Congrats Charlie, that's what a lot of doctors say about my daughter. She has what is called "Kabuki Syndrome" and they say that her delayed progress and a host of other stuff will keep her from learning as much as she should. Of cours they said that 5 years ago and she's six now and she's already proving them wrong. Teachers may think they know as well as the doc's but they're not always right and if they are they cannot gauge human will power to succeed!!!!

Again, CONGRATS!!!!

Well......

S'pose I ought to chime in here too huh?????

Hemi_002_detail.jpg

I'm holding a "restored" REAL 426 Hemi valve cover....... I collect them, in workable condition, and turn them into lamp shades, this one, will be part of an upright lamp that will sit on the floor, and extend up just above the head set of a sofa, and have a Polished, or brushed Aluminum plate for a "shelf" that will hold a Testors 1/4th scale visible 426 Hemi! Which, when its done will be in my living room!

THEN you have my partner in crime:

Tuffy_Shop_Dog_000_detail.jpg

Meet "Tuffy" hes my "shop Dog" this little guy, I swear follows me more then my own shadow does!!!

The seen valve cover restoring that I do, I have one thats from a Mopar 225 Slant-6 thats going to be a Model Car display case "top" with Florescent lighting in to light up the models inside sitting on 1/4 inch lexan shelves. I also make the small block ones 318 to 360 into lamp shades, that are going to be wall sconces when I'm done to light my stair case to the shop..... Plus, I have other ideas for them as well. restore history.......... so-to-speak!

So there ya got my mug shot as well as my partner in crime!

Ok, I'll bite. This is the only pic I have of myself. I don't do selfies, I hate that word by the way. This was the night my son was born. It was a long day. I had started my day at midnight tuesday, went to work as usual. He was born 3 weeks early, he was born at 11:41 pm. I had been up for 27 hours before I got to go to sleep for a few hours.

This pic was taken around 12:30 am Wednesday.

Amazing isn't it Charlie?

In High School I was voted "Most Likely to go to Prison" .

I'm now in year 34 of a law enforcement career.

I have yet to be on the inside of any actual prison facility.

On the flip side, I've managed to live up to all the low expectations that were predicted for me.

Still me, hard at work on a '33 Plymouth a couple years back. Not much change except a few more wrinkles and a little less hair.

The car when I finished the metal work, just before going to paint...

During the buildup...

On a somber note... this thread got me thinking about Rob Burns (Checkmate) from Australia who had posted photos in this thread back in 2012. I remember knowing that he was fighting cancer, so I checked his profile and saw that he hadn't posted here since December.   Upon looking at his van club's website, I learned that he passed away on May 6th. He was a young man with a family so this is very sad.

Last June, The Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, A.F.&A.M., re-enacted, as closely as possible, the cornerstone ceremony for the Massachusetts State House.

The Grand Master was called upon to perform a traditional stonemasons' ceremony commemorating the laying of the cornerstone and the burial of the time capsule.

I had the distinct pleasure of taking part in that procession from Grand Lodge at the Corner of Tremont and Boylston Streets up Boston Common to Beacon/Park/Tremont St. triangle, where the current State House (built 1798) is located.

I even got the self-photo feature on my phone to work. I was standing on the State House lawn when I took this.

This was a couple of months later at my 40th, talking with a very good friend of mine from high school and his wife.

Ok, if you insist.  You can see the diorama that is used for my icon, it didn't get an award, but my Honey, We Have A Problem got another First Place.
