Mike C. Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Your welcome John. They also have good videos on rusting them up and other patina.
Dpate Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Kits came in 2 days ago but i forgot to take pics, and legos came in today lol.

They also have good videos on rusting them up and other patina. my go to for rust is brown enamels dry brushed on in various shades, then it goes in a bag with powdered rust made from soaking wire wool in vinegar or brine until its dried off and leaves a nice lump of rust for the mortar and pestle. A gentle shake and it looks like its sat outside for years.
Mike C. Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Thanks for the tip Les, I'll need to do some of that also. After I tore my hands up trying to sift the soil through the strainer, (didn't think it would be so much work) I went and got this old heavy ice cream scooper. It seemed to work a little better.
Mike C. Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Now I have more dirt than I know what to do with. No sticker shock on the price of dirt! ?

The rusting one is what I need for my recently acquired AMT “Diamond In The Rough” kit. Any chance of making an easy link to that one?

Here's another one that gives you tips on detailing the windshield wiper mud. Edited August 7, 2022 by Mike C.

HomerS Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 (edited) Dropped one of the dogs off at the groomer so the wife and I went to the local antique mall to kill time. Rarely find anything but did okay today. $15 for the two and the box.....both are screw bottoms. The Buick is missing the back bumper Edited August 8, 2022 by HomerS
Snake45 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Local Toy Show day. Resisted the urge to buy any more kits or glue bombs, but on the way out spotted a new vendor with some diecasts. Ended up leaving with a couple of Welly-grade sports cars, a BMW and an Alfa Romeo from the '50s or early '60s, and a fairly nice looking '57 Nomad, $30 for all three.
OldNYJim Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Hit the Summer NNL today - pretty small swap meet but picked up a coupla three kits… This, because I want to build an NY cab…surprisingly detailed kit for one labelled ‘Snap Tite’ - looks like it has about as many parts as their Beetle glue kit that I just finished up: This for $10, just because it’s the only Revell Deuce I didn’t have on the shelf: This, because I can’t resist a dumb 70s showrod ? And I got lucky with the raffle too: Oh, and a random set of decals for ??? And about 2/3rds of maybe a Revell VW bus: A good haul - good thing all the raffle prizes had tickets stuck on them or my wife might’ve wondered how much I spent ? 1

ChrisBcritter Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Been waiting patiently for one of these that didn't have custom parts stuck all over it, and didn't cost an arm and a leg and a kidney: 4
wrenchr Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Snagged a pretty nice sized lot of built kits yesterday, me and my brother went 1/2 on it. We split up what we wanted and there is still quite a bit more we are not sure what we want to do with yet. Pics of my 1/2 of the haul.

Mike C. Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 (edited) Well I went back and watched an old you tube video on this and forgot that they come with 2 sets of the pad printed Goodyear Polyglas tires as well as a set of Cragar SS and a whole bunch of other goodies for the parts bin. This one has been out for a wile now so I was pleased to find more than 1 on the shelves at Hobby Lobby. And this is a 40% discount week. This is like getting one of those no longer available AMT Goodyear Polyglas tire packe and then some. Now I feel like I should have picked up 2. 0 Edited August 9, 2022 by Mike C. 1

I recently had the same thought and did the same thing. Unfortunately, at some time Round 2 made a change with this kit and is no longer printing the "Polyglas GT" or the size lettering on any of the eight tires, just the "Goodyear" white letters. (As shown in your picture above) The kit is still a good deal and the tires are still nice, just not outstanding like they were in earlier runs of this kit. Round 2 really needs to revise the box art to correctly show the tires that they're now including. Edited August 10, 2022 by Robberbaron

Maybe I should go back and get that last kit I saw before all the good ones are gone.

The previous versions are shown on the box art: in addition to the Goodyear logos, they also had "Polyglas GT" and the size lettering on each. Edited August 11, 2022 by Robberbaron
Daddyfink Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Swung by a local Walmart and decided to check their clearance aisle, and this is what I found. They also had a couple of Coca Cola Trailers, but I decided to take the last two car kits. Really wanted only the Vega, but, if I find cheap kits, I snap them up for our Raffle at the next Model Expo show. 1
