Went to Atomic City, got some supplies, parts, & a 33 Ford 3 window builder for parts...

33 turned out to be an Aurora, not an AMT as I first thought...

Aurora's was a '34 five-window coupe.  Got any pictures, we should be able to figure out what you have...

the ones that have sale price came from Hobby Lobby, funny car in tin and the detail parts are from top shelf models in Owasso ok. I have a friend there they got the rest at the show. Magazines and allthe Mooneyes die cast I got was from a freind that lives in the area.

The Hobby Lobbies here in the KC Metro seem to only offer the 40% off every other week. Haven't seen any really special pricing on their closeout area for a couple of years now.

Hobby Lobby stores everywhere have the 40% off deal every other week.  The "Clearance" kits with the orange labels, if they have any in the store, are on the same shelves as the rest of the model kits.

Got a new chemical dispensing bottle for the Mr. Color thinner. it was getting difficult to reach the thinner with a pipette. I’ve drilled a 1/8” hole in the lid of all of these bottles so that they won’t accidentally squirt when I pick them up. I need to put my finger over the hole in order for them to dispense.

79 10th anniversary Trans am. I love kits that have no bar code. I built this kit back in 1979. It was started, and the t-tops were cut out with a chainsaw, but the price was right.

A set of Monogram/Revell 1980 Mustang/Capri TRX wheels that showed up in a regular envelope. I was able to glue the pieces back.

Not today but dad and I went to the Auto Fair in Charlotte,North Carolina last weekend. We are always scouring the swap meet looking for parts for our 1:1 projects. I ended up finding two 61 Lincoln promo hardtops and a AMT 63 Lincoln convertible for cheap. The Monogram 427 Cobra was missing the tires/wheels but all there and it was really cheap too.I got the AMT 76 Dart for a good deal too. It was open, but complete.

Awesome Lincoln haul; wow; can't wait to see whatcha build outta them. Also; I've got that same Shelby Cobra kit, builds up real nice, and even though the decals are from 1988 (or 89?) they surprisingly weren't brittle; at least back in 2021 they were still good.

Mail delivery yesterday $26. Finally got one after waiting almost 4 years. Originally had some sort of idea to attempt putting an engine in it but kinda lost interest. Then I watched the 2003 movie, Secondhand Lions, and saw the relatives' 1959 Imperial four-door so I thought a four door conversion could be a cool thing to do but after the '83 Cadillac and '61 Meteor conversions I think I'm just gonna take it easy so thisun'll be a two-door, though still greatly inspired by the car in the movie. Also, this kit is the first brand new kit since my '66 Thunderbird kit in January, 'cause since then I built two secondhand kits and then rebuilt 5 of my own kits so I totally forgot how it was to open a fresh new kit with parts still in the bags. It was nice. And a little wierd.

I finally got my hands on my holy Grail kit, the Profil24 1956 Jaguar D-Type Le Mans winner. Looking at the parts I can tell quite a bit of work will be needed, especially to get the hood to line up with the body, but it has the basis for a beautiful model. Funny enough, I had mentioned this kit to someone last year and they said maybe it would show up on eBay. Sure enough, that's where I found it, and even managed to pay a bit less that it cost new.

I also received a few 1/43 kits directly from BBR in Italy. The are impressively detailed and only cost $35 each after shipping.

Here's one I've never built before. The box is ratty, but the kit is complete. For $20 shipped to my door, I'm not going to complain. Mmmm, 1990s AMT goodness!stealth.jpg.2e03f2b13056e442e852bf1237e9c950.jpg.
