Dpate Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 These came in today. The gray scale goes up to 90% just didn’t feel like i would need it. 2
Mike C. Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 My Jeep Glue bombs arrived today. I managed to get this one apart to see what I'll be needing from the Mount N' Goat kit. I managed to save the front windshield . Wasn't so lucky with the back. However, being that it's flat, it will be easy to cut a new one from a piece of acitate. The frame, engine, suspension, and other goodies from the Mount N Goat kit should work to make this one a cool Commando. I never saw this type of roof on this kit I kind of dig it. Should look nice with som Fireball tires. 1
Mike C. Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Just put the parts in to soak in the purple stuff for a few weeks.

ChrisBcritter Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Haven't bought much in a while but I keep my eyes open. Passed on a couple '33 Chevy Panel kits whose bids hit the stratosphere, and a '58 Pontiac hardtop that did the same, but did snag this very decent '61 Fleetwood body: ... which will go to improve the damaged one I got from the Tennessee tractor auction some months back: ...then I can cut the good A-pillars from the blue body to fix a second complete one I have in the stash - and maybe convert it to a six-window short-tailed Town Sedan. (Jo-Han already shortened it a bit anyway to fit the box, so...) 1

Dpate Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 (edited) This gorgeous thang came in today. Rebox of lindburg. This might be my goal for it, and the rims look littler better than the spoke rims, but I’m not sure wha type of rims those are. Not sure yet still deciding. But from what I’ve been looking up it looks more like the Victoria. Didn’t know there was different versions of the same car. Edited June 29, 2023 by Dpate 1 1
PatW Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 (edited) Possibly the last buy this year as my annual budget is now spent! Edited June 29, 2023 by PatW 1

papajohn97 Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 My dear friend of +50 years heard I was immersed in building models of mid-sixties super stock drag cars and gifted me his collection of “Super Stock & Drag Illustrated” Magazines. He was the original owner of these mags which he splurged on a subscription to in his middle school years. These are from ‘65 through ‘71 and are hit & miss month-wise but who’s complaining? They smell funky (like an old bookstore) but are in excellent condition. Boy ‘O boy are they fun to look at! I would love to buy the missing months in late ‘64 and ‘65 (missing about 8 of the 14 months) but, based on current eBay prices, I would blow through my remaining hobby budget for this year and then some…..Thank you Gordon! 4
oldcarfan Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 I don't really have many 'Holy Grail' kits left to look for, but I do have a list of 'Wanna Finds'. This week I went to WIld Bill's Hobbytown in Dallas and found two of them. The Fujimi Pantera is a kit I've wanted for 10 years but always lost out on at auctions. The other is the Audi Quattro. I used to have the Tamiya version, but this one will do nicely. In addition, I got the Talladega off a clearance table, and the VW truck is something I've been wanting to order for a while. If I understood right, the original Wild Bill's location has been closed and the new Hobbytown locations in the area are called WIld Bill's Hobbytown. 1
Street Rod Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Got this in the mail today. Traded for it with a fellow forum member. Will make a fun build down the road. 4
Spottedlaurel Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 (edited) A mixed bag of arrivals this week: Thought this might have some useful upgrade parts for the Accord Wagon I'm currently building for the Cannonball Community Build, but it turns out to be a different generation. Nice Lowenhart split-rim wheels (which are different to the box top). Opening tailgate an unusual feature. Bodykit is not pretty, and the original builder was going for a rather dramatic look with the colour choice. If I can clean up the black around the door handle then it would be interesting to see if it will take a coat or two of clear and polish out.... Another rebuilder. I like these simple Monogram kits, all those I've seen so far have nicely proportioned bodyshells even if they're very basic otherwise. Sadly this one is missing it's front bumper/spoiler, but I have an Italeri 944 that was built many years ago from which I could rob something. In the meantime the box sits happily with the 280Z and TR7 I already have. A strange little kit, more of a toy really. I already had the box (purchased with another one in the range), then someone found the Citroen on a market stall. It's lost its grille and bumper but has otherwise been put together reasonably well. It has opening front doors, bonnet and tailgate, with a bit of thought it could be painted and detailed as an effective little display piece. Edited July 1, 2023 by Spottedlaurel 1
