Developing a passion for LSR. Found these 4 Hawk/Testors sealed streamliner kits on eBay, CAD$80 for the lot including shipping from GB. These are very simple toys (rubber band powered) and sold as 1/32 but they are a good fit for 1/25 1950's style streamliners (see size comparison to Ferrari 275P). Essentially these are only body shells and absolutely everything underneath needs to be fabricated. My kind of project!

I came across a few of these a while back and started planning a similar project. I did find that the body is a little shallow for a 1/24th engines to fit cleanly. I think a 1/25th flathead or similar should work nicely if that helps. If I ever remember where I put them, I want to put two together to make a longer version. I also found some 1 inch tall r/c aircraft wheels that looked about right. Can't remember the brand, but they were at Hobbytown and had machined aluminum centers.

Cool looking Escort! How old is that kit?

According to Scalemates, the model was first released in 1994, however this version (Repsol) was issued in 1996.

Excellent info Gary, thanks. Indeed the body is a bit shallow, thinking of extending the lower body sides. Lots to think about, should be a fun project.

Burbank's House of Hobbies has been getting some cool old kits in so I indulged and picked up a couple more.  Yesterday I picked up a 74 AMT Mustang II kit and a Hawk Monte Carlo.  I wanted to get one of these since I was about ten.

They also had the Moebius (formerly Galaxie) 40's Chevy kits so I picked up a Coupe kit.

We had our club meeting last night and some guys brought some kits to sell.  I acquired a Revell 67 GTX (Sox & Martin), Fujimi Ferrari Daytona, Moebius Golden Commandos AWB car and a couple other things.

My wife and I went to the Hartsville Ohio flea market yesterday and I found a couple things, really good prices on everything!

1960 Desoto from Johan, unbuilt and complete!

Tommy Ivo dragster sealed inside

25th anniversary Vette sealed

32 Ford complete very slightly started

AMT competition pack, just two Allison engines and the Hemi

GMP 1/24 diecast Ryan Blaine’s sprint car

and a built 63 Buick Riv, not bad but I think I’ll be posting this for trade.

I got everything for $112!

So went to my local hobby shop, had a nice chat with the owner. I get to support him until March 2026, so will look to spend something each payday there, be it supplies or a kit.

So without further ado... I had the wife with me while I was out and about, and this haul was from today and I blew the budget so far out of the water, I only got a dirty look from the wife, but I didn't get murdered lol.  I had plan on spending about 200ish, but was closer to 300 lol.

I needed a new chrome ink pen so I grabbed this one from Hobby Lobby only to discover that nowhere on it does it say Molotow. I haven’t tried it yet but everyone should just beware of the deceptively similar packaging and cheap price. The product quality could certainly be poorer.

NFS.....the boxed promos were $25.  The 69 Chevy has a cracked A-pillar and missing the rear pan below the bumper.

Growing up, my dad had a 73 Impala, albeit a four door, as a company car.  I think that was the car that hooked me on the full sized sedan

What area?

The maritimes.  I haven’t been into a store for several months, but last time I got a Revell ‘70 Torino Cobra.  After the 30% coupon was applied, the price was $28 Cdn, a steal at today’s prices.

In checking their website, I just noticed they are not showing stock in any stores near me, so I hope that’s just temporary.  Seems like a lot of supply chain issues since all this tariff nonsense started, so maybe it’s just that.

Since I haven’t actually been in the stores to check the shelves, I can’t even say they don’t have them for sure.  Websites aren’t always accurate, I’ve noticed.
