GeeBee Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 All finished !!! I'm still not 100% happy with the Alclad brass, but it was the first time I had used it, I think I needed to give it a few more coats, hopefully the next time I use it I should get a better, more brass like finish.
TooOld Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 (edited) Agreed , that's a beautiful car ! The red pinstripes are a nice touch . Edited November 22, 2012 by TooOld
Terry Jessee Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 So how'd you do the red pinstripes? That's a great look. Terry
lizardlust Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Simply a glorious build - thank you for sharing it with us!!!
GeeBee Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 So how'd you do the red pinstripes? That's a great look. They were masked and airbrushed on ...
W-409 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Yeah, excellent build, as always! Your work inspires me every time, these builds are just so clean and very nicely done-subjects are interesting too. Very nice job with those red stripes, and overall clean build. From here the Alclad brass looks good too.
Sam Cates Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 I love it, been looking at getting one for some time, but those Fleabay prices are just horrid! That brass has an antique, unpolished look to it, like it really is old. Excellent build!
GeeBee Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 been looking at getting one for some time, but those Fleabay prices are just horrid They usually go for £20 and under over here, if you want help in getting one, let me know,
charlie8575 Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Geoff, that is certainly one to be proud of. Someday, I'll get to building mine and yours will be an inspiration. Nice work on that. Charlie Larkin
Miatatom Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 (edited) Another one that's on my list to build and beautifully done. Edited November 23, 2012 by Miatatom

Sixties Sam Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Beautiful model! You don't see many of the real oldies built. Great work on the red stripes! Sam
vintagedragfan Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 turned out beautiful Geoff, very nice work!
crazyjim Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Gorgeous build. The seats look like real leather.
gtx6970 Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Impressive is an understatement. I like this one A LOT. I used to work for a local shop that specialized in the restoring the brass era cars.,,,,and You nailed the look on this one to a T . I followed along on the build thread and it has me looking for one of these kits do for later on.
sjordan2 Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Congratulations. Very nice. Inspires me to haul out my 1/16 Aurora and Lindberg kits.
GTMust Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Another truly inspiring build Geoff...... I'm always in awe of your clean building techniques. Can't wait to see what you come up with next! Tony
GeeBee Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 Thanks everyone for your kind words, I really enjoyed this build, for me this build was a trip down memory lane, I built this kit first time round when it was first released here in England, (1978) I had just started work and went into town with my first wage packet to the big model shop we used to have, now the memory is a little fuzzy, as I really can't remember if I bought the '32 Chrysler or the Stutz first, and while building this one, I had flash backs to when I built this at the age of 15, in my little shed in the garden hand painting the body in bright yellow enamel, and if I say so myself I did a pretty good job of it, thanks to the old guy in the body shop at work who taught me how to thin and brush paint enamel without getting brush marks in the paint .... if I ever get my hands on another one of these kits I will be build it in the bright yellow I originally did all those years ago ....
Aaronw Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I love these old cars, wish there were more for us to build out there. You've done a great job on this one.
