Dyno Davo Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Hi everyone, this has been posted in the drag section during the build and finally its all finished. This is all scratch built or aftermarket resin and other parts. It's a 1:16 scale 140" Kellison chassis with a 392 Hemi running a early Hilborn 4 hole injector scoop. Paint is Pontiac Engine Blue base, aqua marine flake and blue candy. The front wheel spokes were made from nickel plated brass wire, all the chrome is Alclad. Hope you like it.
diymirage Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 cool i specially like the blue butterfly valves it matches the rest of the car
Dave Van Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Love it!! Rails lost my interest when they went rear engine. FE rail is cool.....VERY nice work.
TooOld Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I agree with Dave , FE dragsters are the best ! And your build is excellent ! The paint and all of the details are beautiful .
Webb Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Really nice job! I love the old rails and you nailed this one. Engine detail looks great! Chris
Pro Tech Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Dave, the build came out beautiful. I love it! Charlie Pro Tech
bbowser Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Awesome model! You did an excellent job, looks like the real thing. But will it ever be able to out-run a Roadrunner?
W-409 Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Turned out excellent! These Front Engine Dragsters are really nice and I like them more than Rear Engine Dragsters, too. Your paint work is amazing and really like that Coyote decal you did. Excellent detailing too.
my80malibu Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 That is one of the nicest FE dragsters I have seen. The appearance is so realistic, you can smell the Nitro and feel the ground is shaking in the room.
Dyno Davo Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 Thanks guys, really appreciate all the comments. Personally I think the mid sixties is the best era of front engine dragsters, so many cool diggers ran the strips.
Dragline Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 SUPERB in every respect. The whole vibe is perfect and it looks like it's ready to cackle. Very, Very nice.. Bob
RatRod Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Some of the best eye candy for sure!!! Beautiful build David..
Silver Foxx Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 An awesome build, this is a beautiful model, you do really top work.
